The Okay Boutique Hotel is a hidden gem. The hotel is from a guilded age when fine decor was in style. The 14th floor swimming pool and restaurant offer a stunning view of the city and the merging rivers. Some rooms have more to offer than others, but the amenities were more than satisfactory and the service everywhere was excellent.

“Very good service for the price”

We stayed 13 days in this hotel. We were two couples. We chose it for its location and especially for its very inexpensive price. It is located in the middle of a not very reassuring dead end when we arrived on the first night. In fact, it’s just an impression. The hotel lobby is old-fashioned but it’s pleasant. The staff are kind. The room is quite large and equipped with what’s needed but not lit enough. The decoration is also old-fashioned. The bathroom is clean. It has been a little bit redone but the finishes are not very good (paint that overflows ...). The door that opens onto the small balcony had no curtain. Thus, in the morning, the sun illuminated a quarter of the room. That didn’t prevent us from sleeping. The cleaning was done correctly but, from time to time, things were forgotten (towels, toilet paper, water). Nothing serious, a phone call and it was settled. The sheets and towels were not dazzling white. The weight of years. The breakfast is very decent and the waitresses efficient and friendly. We tried the restaurant once on a stormy evening to avoid going out. The rather disappointing dishes, incipients and the staff a bit overwhelmed by the probably exceptional crowds. There is a beautiful swimming pool on the roof. In summary, the services are very good given the very affordable price.

Great location and I liked the rooftop pool/bar area which had fantastic views. Bed was reasonably comfortable. The air conditioning worked. But - I asked two days before arrival for a transfer from the bus station. The reply told me which stop to get off at. But the driver was no show. I had tried to confirm arrangements but didn’t get an answer until a day later. On check in I didn’t get the room I booked and was put in a family room which felt musty and was dusty. Definite smell of stale cigarette smoke. The lamp was plugged in but there was a clean break in the flex. So technically a length of flex was plugged in, unattached at the live end. We asked for a new lamp and someone turned up quickly. We then sat for twenty minutes, late in the evening, while he tried to repair it. By the time he left it was working but there was bare wire showing, the switch wasn’t secure and the whole thing fell apart when I I unplugged it. TV wiring was held together, just, with tape and the fridge thermostat was broken so any water you put in froze solid. No minibar. Breakfast was very average. That really sums up the stay. It could be a great hotel but it’s let down by poor communication, out of date room facilities, cleaning etc. I get it’s a larger hotel than the one I stayed in in Siem Reap but the two couldn’t have been further apart in terms of customer experience.
