From airport pickup the Rosewood experience delivered a perfect visit to Phnom Penh. The suite was spacious and fully serviced. The amenities and mini bar top tier. You can have a great time without leaving the room! The hotel offers a number of bars and restaurants, all of which are excellent. SORA with sweeping views across the city and fun cocktails is a must visit. The breakfast offerings are phenomenal and this always helps to start the day off well. This is a great hotel to stay when in Phnom Penh to escape the hustle and heat.

Rosewood is a brand we love and maybe haven’t always got it right fully, but in general a great stay is always had and amazing experiences had. We think this is one of our favourite so far. We arrived into the new Techo airport and was collected by a super friendly driver and whisked to the city in a clean comfy hotel branded F-pace. The cold scented towels were a welcome touch. On arrival like a lot of tower based hotels, you have a small intimate lobby downstairs and a main reception up with the views, we were however met at the door and whisked up to our room for check in and immigration documents. The room was modern, large and well appointed with views over the city (which wasn’t full appreciated until you wake up in the morning) Everyone we met understood the assignment and great service was offered by all, attentive and it felt like genuine interest in getting to know you and what you like. Amenities in the room were perfect, our Travel consultant gives everyone our likes and dislikes. Which normally comes with a level of hotels interpretation, very few have come so close as this hotel. Breakfast the perfect mix of stations for picking at whilst a menu to order. The team also made it clear they were happy to get items for you. Only criticism I guess is due to it being a fully glass building - the restaurant was so warm. The Spa treatments, arrival, relaxation after and the pool area faultless. The bar was honestly one of the experiences which really made us think, “we need to come back to this hotel one day soon”. We were looked after by the most attentive waiter, he was so helpful that it felt like nothing was too much trouble. “You want a picture?” No problem by using table lamps and various angles we had a mini photoshoot. A guest nearby starts up a cigar and it’s not for us, so another table was sourced. We enjoyed the drinks and service so much we cancelled our dinner reservations and asked our amazing waiter to get us a table in the hotel Japanese restaurant, which he personally selected the best table possible and ensured we were looked after - Thank you!

A disclaimer before you read the review: The hotel offered me two forms of compensation: a bottle of champagne and a voucher for a two-night stay at hotels in cities I will never visit. Understandably, I declined both. Here we go: I like Rosewood Hotels. However, only the newer ones. The reason: The older properties are either not maintained or updated at all or only superficially. In Phnom Pen, what was once considered "minimalist, homely chic" now looks like the furnishings of a semi-detached house in a Parisian suburb. This particular hotel is more of a good choice for business travelers, less so for guests who also like to spend time in their rooms. I belong to the latter category, and these are just a few examples of why it could be challenging for you: Since its opening eight years ago, the hotel has clearly had a problem with the air conditioning, confirmed by staff members. It's either switched off, boiling hot or freezing cold whenever you enter your room. The temperature can only be adjusted with the help of a maintenance technician. A challenge for rooms and suites located in a glass-fronted high-rise in a country with temperatures reaching up to 40 degrees Celsius. While temperatures rose to almost 25 degrees at night I ended up sleeping on the sofa for two nights (didn't really help, no sleep). The rooms are cluttered with light switches that are neither at eye level nor identifiable after dark (as they are unlit), making them impossible to operate. Homeowners with a penchant for tech gadgets will be delighted. Tip: If you want to connect your devices to the TV, bring all the cables you've already stored, as wireless connections are not available. Don't expect soundbars either. One of Rosewood's strengths is its diverse and carefully curated culinary offerings—and this, it seems, is also the brand's main focus. In contrast, the "Rosewood Breakfast," at least in the hotels I visited, is rather basic, though the quality is acceptable. However, the fact that water isn't included in the already limited beverage selection is disappointing. Nevertheless: Take your company credit card, treat your partners to dinner, and then impress them with a fantastic whiskey at the bar. For everyone else: Book a room at the Raffles.
