“Clean, quiet, beautiful view.”

My love and I had a Valentine’s getaway to Kamloops and stayed at the Riverland Inn. The room was clean and quiet, and the view from our balcony was beautiful right on the river. We would stay again.

This place looks pretty dodgy from the outside, but what a pleasant surprise once you're inside the rooms! They are very modern, well appointed, clean and the beds are great. I think there must have been recent renovations, because it all looks pretty bright shiny and new. The man in reception was super helpful and very welcoming, and gave us some great recommendations for dinner. Located overlooking the river and has a nice outdoor grassed area for use by guests. The breakfast included was well above expectation - it wasn't just the standard continental, there was a hot selection as well and fresh fruits, cereals, and an assortment of pastries. Highly recommend the Riverland Inn - don't be put off by the outside!

This motel was better than we expected, given the mixed reviews it has received. The bones are an older style motel, but the interior of the room had been updated. We had a wonderful view of the river from our window that was just like in the cover picture above. We needed to go to bed early to get a family member on a very early flight. The dark curtains helped block out the light so we could get to sleep. We found it fairly quiet as only one party talking outside our room woke us during the evening. The bathroom is the style with a toilet & tub in a bathroom and the sink in the main part of the motel room. The coffee machine was perched on the side of the sink right inside the door, which was a little weird. The free breakfast was a bonus, although it was bare bones -- reheated "omelette" and sausages, bagels, English muffins, toast, fruit (apples & oranges), cereal (Fruit Loops, Raisin Bran, & instant oatmeal), coffee, & juice machine. No yogurt or waffle machine. If accessibility is an issue, be sure to request a room on the ground level (same level as the parking lot). There is a level above that is accessible by outside staircase only and a level below. We didn't go down to the bottom level, so I'm not sure if there are guest rooms on that level. There was a nice outdoor seating area on the bottom level, as in the photos.

We stayed thanksgiving weekend. Beautiful veiw of the Thompsen River. All Staff were FREUINDLY AND POLITE. probably coul stay ther again
