This was a perfectly nice place to stay for a couple of days. Room was clean when we arrived and we cannot comment on housekeeping since we kept the privacy notice on the door. the fellow at the desk was helpful in answering questions. It is located a short walk from downtown shops and restaurants, and across the parking lot is a Denny's where we had breakfast twice. It was worth the price for us.

“A good hotel”

We arrived tired after a long day driving, the receptionist was very good and gave us a room up grade which was very good as it faced the park. This hotel is right next to the rail tracks and you can here the trains The hotelstaff were very pleasant and helpful Free parking too

I booked this stay on a third party website (booking.com) however despite receiving a confirmation email, my reservation never made it to the hotel. Fortunately, the manager was able to secure me a room (at an even better rate) despite being “sold out”. Check-in process was relatively straightforward. The manager of the hotel is exceptionally friendly, professional and efficient. After carefully reviewing comparable properties in the area, this property seemed to be my best bet representing great value. My room was on the third floor and despite being incredibly tiny, no amenities were spared. My room contained a larger than normal mini fridge, air conditioning, closet (with sufficient coat hangers), a workstation and all of the necessary bathroom fixings. Considering that I’m traveling solo, I didn’t encounter any issues with the bed however the room I was assigned to had a single bed, something I’ve never seen before in a hotel! My only constructive feedback, which in the grand scheme of things is quite minor, the bathtub/shower enclosure needs a deep clean. I found long black hairs stuck to the tile and a significant amount of build-up in the shower enclosure grout lines. Nothing some bleach and a steam cleaner can’t fix. :) The Sandman Inn has ample free parking for guests however prospective guests should note that it’s in an unsecured parking lot outside. If you aren’t familiar with downtown Kamloops, it’s important to note that there is a higher than average concentration of homeless/riff-raff. In simple words, don’t leave anything in your vehicle as you’d be inviting a break in! I found the location of the hotel to be quite handy, located right on the periphery of downtown with super easy freeway access. Last thing I’ll note is that despite my room facing Columbia, my room was whisper quite.

“WOULDN'T RECOMMEND”

We spent one night here enroute to visiting family. The bathroom floor was dirty and when we went to use the bathroom sink, the knob fell off. I pulled out the armchair in the room and there was food wrappers behind it - obviously hadn't been vacuumed since the last guests. There is no elevator… more

We spent one night here enroute to visiting family. The bathroom floor was dirty and when we went to use the bathroom sink, the knob fell off. I pulled out the armchair in the room and there was food wrappers behind it - obviously hadn't been vacuumed since the last guests. There is no elevator in the hotel so wouldn't recommend for guests with mobility issues. There is no ice machine - had to go across the street to Denny's for ice. I wouldn't stay here again mainly due to the room not being clean.
