We live locally and had a conference in Richmond for the day. We decided we didn't want to deal with early AM rush hour traffic so booked for the night prior. The conference hotel rates were ridiculous, so we booked at the Executive Hotel instead . The price was beyond reasonable, and in fact, I messaged out the price to colleagues who ended up booking as well. I had never stayed here before and have always been curious what it offered. We knew we would have a room in the low rise section of the hotel (the reservation stipulated this up front), which is the older section, and to say that we were very pleasantly surprised would be an understatement. The public areas are all spotless and have new carpeting throughout. The room itself has been recently redone and was in perfect condition except for the bath, which looked as if it is still in progress. Nothing serious, just some rust etc in the bathtub, which is obviously original to the building. I expect this will be upgraded in time. Our room was on the 2nd floor (there are 3 floors in this section), and I was very happy with this choice. I would likely recommend not booking a room on the ground floor. They looked like they were considerably smaller and the cars on that side of the building, were parked right in front of the windows. If you are booking a ground floor room, I would recommend the courtyard view instead. The staff were all extremely friendly. We arrived right at check in time and some of the rooms were just being finished up, so we encountered a number of housekeeping staff on the way to our room. All had a big smile and greeted us as we passed them by. There were 2 people checking in when we arrived, and another staff member came out to help us check in on the kiosk, which was very efficient. She asked us the purpose of our visit, so we told her we were attending the conference the next day at the neighbouring hotel. She then very kindly offered to extend our overnight $15 parking rate to allow our car to stay until the end of our conference instead of us having to pay $48 to park over there. I thought that went above and beyond!. In speaking with some of our colleagues, they were also impressed at the value this hotel provided. We were all professional travel advisors attending the conference next door, and none of us will hesitate in recommending this hotel to our clients from now on. By the way, the hotel was not aware we were travel advisors. We were paying standard consumer prices and didn't want our opinions of the hotel to be biased by receiving preferential treatment.

Wi-Fi not strong - coukd t download boardin passes - clean - has bar and food - ok to stay for quick airport but WiFi was frustrating
