I was really happy with my experience here, the price is very reasonable and it was exactly what I needed. I was in and out, not spending much time in the room, but it served its purpose for providing a good sleep, great coffee, nice bathroom. There is risk of noise travelling into the room, but the hotel provides ear plugs. I booked expecting there to be noise given that it is located over a pub and they provided anple warning. It was no big deal with the ear plugs. Had a great rest! Will 100% stay here again.

Hubs and I argued about whether this is a hotel or a hostel, and I think he may have won out when other wedding guests exclaimed, "You're staying at the HOSTEL?" lol. The good: Huge room with a very comfortable king sized bed and decent pillows. Small fridge and coffee maker, though it was not stocked with coffee, so byo ground coffee, etc. We made a filter out of the napkin supplied in the packets that came with tea bags. Washroom was large with body wash, shampoo and conditioner and lots of decent towels, face clothes, etc. Check-in online and get instant access to the building and your room (once the check-in time is up) via an electronic keypad on your phone. There are some friendly desk personnel on duty during the day, and after dinner time you can contact them for emergencies only. Our room overlooked the street, with a big old 1970's style picture window, which we enjoyed people watching from. The room has recently been renovated, with no carpet or heavy drapes - easily kept clean. Air conditioning worked well. the area immediately around the hotel has lots of cafe type restaurants, and Shoppers and a White Spot are walking distance away. The Questionable: There is no parking on site, nor in the immediate area, and though there are a few "max of 1 hour" spots out front that are nice for unloading, there isn't always one open. They're good about providing a map of free local street parking, but it meant parking three blocks away (5 minutes walk or so). Apparently there's a loud pub or something onsite and they offer ear plugs, but tbh we didn't hear a thing from room 107. They allow pets, and our room appeared clean but did carry the faint scent of last night's dog for the first 24 hours at least. It would not be suitable for someone with allergies I don't think, and for my sensitive cat-lover nose it was a bit icky though I was able to convince myself that the space was adequately cleaned. Regarding the electronic key - you need to hold your finger down on it until the green light comes on your door handle. The last morning we were there my husband wasn't able to get the main door open with it, so that is a potential concern. Also, if you're one of the last people on earth without a smartphone, I'm not sure they'd be able to accommodate you as there are no keys to speak of. Overall, I'd stay here again if the price is right. If you need a budget option and aren't worried about parking away from the building, I'd say go for it.
