“Excellent Location and Self-Service Laundromat in Hotel”

Stayed for 4 nights, May 31 to June 4. Had Self-service Laundromat on premises, very reasonable price (I think about $2 for wash) which was great because did not seem to be any self-service laundromats in downtown Victoria. Coffee maker, microwave, and refrigerator in room. No safety deposit box. Coffee not great but I like dark strong coffee. Excellent location, 10 minutes walk to Wharf Street along harbour, 15 minutes to Waterfall area in Beacon Hill Park, 10 minutes to Market Stores, 903 Yates (just past Quadra), 15 minutes to Save on Foods at Pandora and Vancouver, and even closer to a Rexall. No inside or outside noise. Bathroom not only clean but looked renovated and lots of counter space on top of vanity. Adequate electrical outlets. 3 Medium size drawers. Note I was in room with 2 queen size beds. Had a light between beds with 2 switches so fine for me but maybe if one person wanted to read in bed and other did not might not work. Overall very good, but this is why I did not give it an Excellent. Two steps to reception, and then another 3 steps to elevator though Reception helped me with my suitcase. Big closet, but only 6 hangers which was fine for me but this was a room with 2 queen beds. Not enough light for me, though I like a lot of light (light in hall, desk had light, light beside chair, but I would have liked overhead light in centre of room.) Light on table between beds had 2 switches and fine for me but if people in both beds light could disturb person not using it. Had to request Housekeeping throw out garbage (I think they clean only every 3 days unless otherwise requested, so they don't make bed, throw out garbage, etc.). No safety deposit box. No computer for use of guests though Public Library opposite let you use computer which was convenient (hotel probably assumes everyone has cell phones). Receptionist when I checked in was helpful but kept pushing me to book a particular transport service to Victoria Airport (I think called Sutledge). Other receptionists just gave me a choice between Yellow Cab and this particular service.

“Basic room but had everything we needed”

This was a basic hotel but had everything we needed. We enjoyed some time in the swimming pool and found the beds were comfortable, clean and spacious.

This picture is old on TA. This hotel has no place to park to register. You cannot stop outside the front door,it has been made into bike lanes and you cannot block them. You cannot use their parking until you have the room key card. We drove around 6x and I finally had to block the bike lane…my da… more

We drove around 6x and I finally had to block the bike lane…my daughters in the car were yelled at by the bicyclists… They got me registered quickly and I drove around the block again to enter the parking area. The room is fine, it was clean, a fan was going…it was 30’ and no A/C! The pool is just a room with cement walls and a little pool. We went out for the day, the parking lot was full. So we went for dinner and returned to a still full parking lot! I kept circling, but there was nowhere to park…and I paid for parking! I had to block the bike lane and ask them what to do….the man behind the desk ran down to have a look. Yes there were two open spots. The first one was in a corner and a big truck pulled in on an angle, so his backend was over the line.there was nowhere to way I could get into it. The second spot was for small cars, there were two bigger cars parked already. I was able to pull in, but we couldn’t open the doors! It turns out that one of those cars was his, he moved it! Thankfully! We were so tired, just wanted a shower and go to bed. We go back to our room, no maid service so no clean towels. I called down and they had me go to the front desk. They only had two bath towels and two Hand towels for three of us😖 I think if I was in Victoria I wouldn’t stay here again, the parking situation alone was frustrating enough!

“Family of 4 Suite in August”

Positives: Staff was super friendly and helpful. Our suite was well priced, clean, and comfortable. The location is awesome; so much in walking distance. Negatives: No AC. We were fortunate for August that it was not scorching hot. But we can definitely tell if it was any hotter we would be uncomf… more

We were fortunate for August that it was not scorching hot. But we can definitely tell if it was any hotter we would be uncomfortable. I did not expect a chain hotel not to have AC. When we checked in there was no more paid parking on site and we had to pay hourly at the underground library parking. Though it was cheaper than onsite parking for that night since 8pm-9am was free. I also did not see paid parking on the website or the cost, but it is $15/night. Just being a little more upfront on some of these would have made it more enjoyable.
