Business trip and pleasure. Over the coarse of 1 week, recently our family stayed in a well equipped 1 bedroom suite, kitchen, nice bath, while 8 others had individual rooms. All where very comfortable and without incident. Everything was organized and ran smoothly. The suite, king bed was comfortable. Windows open slightly to get fresh air. And the pleasant staff took immediate care of any additions we required, or requests. Over the coming months we will stay at this hotel several times.

“Great stopover for rooms and a meal”

Stopped here on way to Newfoundland - wee try to go to Marriotts wherever possible. The reception staff were very considerate - we got a room upgrade. The room was clean, comfortable and spacious. Stopped here on way to Newfoundland - wee try to go to Marriotts wherever possible. The reception staff were very considerate - we got a room upgrade. The room was clean, comfortable and spacious. The attached restaurant - Sophia & Spritz was very good, their Italian menu is worth considering. Our wait person - Jennifer was attentive and helpful in menu selection. Overall no complaints at all regarding the room or the restaurant.

I will start this review saying I would give this a 3.5 stars but I can't do half stars so,m 3 stars it is. Full disclosure, this is a long review. To begin, this was our first time at this hotel since it was the Future Inn. We used to stay here every trip when I was a kid (every August once we moved to Nova Scotia when I was a teen) and, while it did not have a pool, it was in my mother's price range. Once it changed from Future Inn to a Marriott hotel, I knew I wanted to come back and give it a try but never got around to it. This trip, it was the right price ($190 senior rate). We were given a 2 Queen room on the 4th floor (424). We were a little worried about being close to the elevator but we stayed two nights and never heard any noise. I kind of liked being that close, actually. Our room was pretty standard, and it looked clean. The TV was a lot smaller than I had imagined but, if you wore your glasses, it worked out. However, no streaming services on it. This was a shock to me because I have been in several Marriott properties since Covid (we switched from Hilton after a bad experience right after Covid at the one downtown Moncton), and a perk was being able to access my PRIME and NETFLIX. Not here, I am afraid. I am not sure if I missed that on the website or it was not stated. We made do with the TV, when it worked. Several times the screen froze, or the remote did not work. I finally had to unplug the TV, wait several minutes, then plug it back in again. This seemed to help but there were several channels we did not get. That was another letdown. We ended up watching a lot of two shows, on a loop when we were in the room. Before I go further, I am goin g to do the PROS and CONS of this hotel: PROS -Location. Very close to the outlet shopping. Right by Tim Horton's and the gas station. -The restaurant downstairs was very good. We did not do the breakfast (only until 9:30am when you are on vacation-not for us) but ate both dinners here. -The shower pressure was excellent. -The beds were pretty comfortable. I liked the pillows -Liked the layout with the soft closing drawers -Front Desk staff was great. The person who checked us in (did not get his name) was lovely. Recommended the restaurant, told me about breakfast. He did not mention that coffee was free in the lobby in the morning though. That might have been useful before I went to Tim's. -Room turned out to be clean-ish (see the CONS section for further detail) -Hotel was pretty quiet. The second night the people next to us were up pretty late, slamming doors, but that is not the hotels fault. -Free bottle of water in the room when we checked in CONS -We thought the room was very clean, until I opened the curtains on the first morning and saw that I could open the window. You will see why in a minute. When I opened the window, I closed it right way. There was that many bugs (living and dead) between the window and the screen. Plus dirt, so much dirt. Last time I touched it. -Our first night, I closed the curtains and three spiders came out of their hiding spots on the curtain. Not the hotels fault really but, that took me some time to help them to their final resting place -The air conditioning. When we came into the room, it was humid so we put the air conditioning as cold as it would go, and then just basked in it because it was so hot outside. We looked forward to get sleeps. We should not have counted on that. Around midnight we heard the air conditioning fan turn off, and then not come back on until around 9am. I think I was up every hour trying to work magic but, it never happened. We had two very hot, sleepless nights in an oven of a room. Thank god we bought more water. -Housekeeping. When we checked in, I was told we would not get housekeeping (email confirmation-not the front desk) because we were only staying two nights. No big deal. Then on our first morning, we were walking out of our room at 10am and found a card on our door saying they tried to give us housekeeping but we denied it (because of the Do Not Disturb sign on the door). i found one of the housekeepers and tried to ask what was up, because the confirmation email said no housekeeping, but I am not sure she understood what I was saying. Not a big deal but it would have been nice to know we still had this service; we would have made sure to leave sooner. -Elevator is very slow (very) and it kind of sounds like you will die if you try to ride it. -No signs on our floor to the ice machine. I walked down one hall, then the other hall, then found "Vending" right by our room, took a chance, and found it. However, it was behind the door. I mean, really? You have to go fully into the room, close the door, and hope no one came in while you were getting ice or you were getting hit with the door. Also, once it just gave me water, no ice. -TV size, the fact that it didn't want to work much, and no ability to watch anything but very basic cable. Overall, all of this leads to my 3.5 star review. I wanted more. Would we stay again? I am not sure. I won't say never but, I likely will pay more to stay somewhere else closer by than here. I will go to the restaurant again but, will stay somewhere else.
