I don’t do this much but I’m going to go with 5 stars, because I enjoyed the stay si much. Hotel is in a great location downtown. Parking in the garage was easy. We got a one bedroom suite with 2 queen beds, plus a living room/kitchen, which worked perfectly. The view was of the harbour, which was a nice plus. Overall, it was just so comfortable. We heard no noise from nearby rooms or the hallway. The TVs were the right size & had lots of channels. There was a vanity with mirror by the bathroom which made it easy for us to get ready simultaneously. The shower was very nice with good products and great water pressure. What else? Elevators were efficient for the most part. Fitness room was good as hotels go. Pool was small but I doubt we were inclined to use it. Breakfast was as good as you could expect for such a hotel and there was always someplace to sit even when it was busy. While more expensive than I usually pay for a room, I think it was a relative value compared to what else I found available. Some of the other hotels, even expensive ones, looked a little tired from the outside, but this one was modern and attractive. I would stay here again in a second. Thanks for a great week in Halifax.

Checked into Homewood Suites by Hilton Halifax‑Downtown and right from the start the staff were incredible — front desk, housekeeping, breakfast crew, everyone. I was a little confused about the parking setup, and they didn’t just point… they walked me through it, visually, step‑by‑step. Parked in a big, clean garage, came back inside, and the same staff member picked up our conversation like we never paused and guided me straight to the elevators. Little things like that go a long way. Day 1: Opened the door to my 14th‑floor room and instantly said wow. Huge space. Full‑size fridge, microwave, dishwasher, fully stocked kitchenette, pull‑out couch, and a rolling desk you can move anywhere. And then… the complimentary snack bar. Restocked daily. Fully free. I sent a picture home and my kids basically started a countdown for my return. Day 2: Slept like a dream — quiet, cool, super comfortable bed and pillows. Breakfast in the morning was legit one of the best complimentary hotel breakfasts I’ve had: scrambled eggs, bacon, hash browns, fresh juices… zero complaints. Came back from meetings to find the room refreshed, towels replaced, and yes… the snack bar topped up again. Day 3: By this point I realized this might be one of the best hotel experiences I’ve ever had. Perfect location, peaceful, and staff who genuinely care. I’ll admit — I raided that snack bar three times. Felt a little guilty until I learned it’s built into the room rate. My kids will treat me like a hero when I walk through the door, so I regret nothing. I truly hope to return — and not just for the snack bar… but it definitely doesn’t hurt.

“Good, but.....”

The location and breakfast were the best!! Where else can you get chia seeds, walnuts except at home?? Housekeeping could be improved. There was mold on the safety bar in the bathroom and the underside of the soap dish. Probably not noticeable, but I took baths and saw the underside. Room 1208… more

The location and breakfast were the best!! Where else can you get chia seeds, walnuts except at home?? Housekeeping could be improved. There was mold on the safety bar in the bathroom and the underside of the soap dish. Probably not noticeable, but I took baths and saw the underside. Room 1208. The sheets and pillow need replacing. The sheets were very think and worn through. The pillow did not there shape. The sofa bed needs replacing. It has lost its form.

“Comfortable but not sure the price was a good value”

Stayed at this location the last two nights in Nova Scotia... wanted to stay downtown near stuff to do. It was comfortable, clean and quiet. Just expensive for what we got. The continental breakfast was not worth writing home about. Would prob not stay here again.
