Some real positives and some things that were out of their control. We were in Ottawa for the weekend to attend a graduation. Reception was great, the room was very nice and clean. The bathroom setup was good and the shower height was excellent, however the water pressure was inconsistent. The dove body products are a consistent hit for us. The fitness area was very well equipped and quite large. Breakfast was ample and efficiently run especially for a busy weekend. (They never ran out of Express Cinammon rolls!) The breakfast staff were very attentive. For the price you get very good value when compared to other hotels in the area when you factor in the breakfast. We were walking distance to most attractions. This is not an easy hotel to get to by car unless you know the work around for the one way streets and turn lane. Once we figured it out we were good. There is on site parking but it fills up pretty fast. Fortunately, we did not have a vehicle. There is an issue with unhoused folks in the area, but the on site security helped lessen the concern. We were not harassed or bothered other than being asked for change crossing the street. The front desk staff were very approachable and told us the best and safest way to get to Byward market and downtown on foot. There is an ambulance dispatch station next door but it was not audible in the room. Would certainly return if in Ottawa again.

I stayed here for a Leisure Trip to Ottawa to get away for a few days and for a train trip. Ottawa is a Beautiful City with lots to see and do and there is something for everyone here. Happy Hour is the best time to go for food in Byward Market. My Check In Experience was easy and welcoming and the girl who greeted me at the counter was very nice and helpful. The room was very clean, spacious and modern and laid out perfectly for the modern traveler. The bed was very comfortable, HVAC worked great and I always love a clean spacious bathroom with stand up shower. Dove products provided in the bathroom along with fresh and fluffy towels. Plenty for one person but two would need extras. I did use the pool which had a perfect temperature but it is very small and I had to leave when some kids came in and took it over. I then opted to use the gym. The treadmills allowed for a comfortable 45 minute run and there is a cable machine along with dumb-bells to get a decent workout in while traveling. A small hot breakfast is provided and had a reasonable variety including pancakes, muffins, breads, yogurts and sausage or bacon with eggs. The only draw back is fresh fruits or healthier options was extremely limited. The Breakfast area was very busy and crowded when I was there and I would suggest, extending the hours to at least 10:00am during the week and 10:30am on the weekends. The breakfast inclusion was why I chose this hotel along with having a gym and pool access. The hotel is within walking distance to Downtown Ottawa, Parliament and Byward Market and is roughly a $10 uber/Lyft ride from the train station. Be advised though that there is a Homeless Shelter across the street and around the corner from the hotel. Be aware of your surroundings and walk on the right hand side of King Edward Street when heading to the hotel. Ask the hotel staff for directions to avoid the rough streets in the area. The hotel is safe itself as doors are locked and monitored from the outside to the lobby and security is onsite to ensure guest safety and security. Overall the hotel is clean, fresh, modern and has everything you need for a budget minded traveler who values a modern and comfortable place to stay while exploring the City.

Customer service at this location was good. We had zero issue's checking in. The rooms were a good size, and comfortable. When I asked about the breakfast, I was told that staff would be able to assist me with Gluten Free options for breakfast. When I spoke to them in the morning, the kitchen staff were polite and very helpful. They assisted me in getting some eggs and even toasted me some Gluten Free Bread (not using the shared toaster) in the kitchen so cross contamination would be minimal. The rooms were clean, and the noise level was minimal. The only negative aspect I found was the location to downtown was perfect when walking to the By-ward Market; however there was a community run medical building for the homeless almost directly across the street. Which meant that there were a lot of homeless individuals in the area openly doing drugs (we saw people injecting themselves). This is not the hotel's problem; it's a systemic issue for all of our country and I realize that it's a complicated issue; however when I was here I was travelling with my teenage daughter the two of us ladies felt very uncomfortable walking back to the hotel a night. The hotel did have security staff very visible; so I believe this was their solution to making customers feel a bit more secure.
