This was just perfect for what we wanted. Easy to find and pull into. Met immediately by the guy responsible for valet parking, who was really nice. Check in was simple, we arrived early but had a room ready and waiting. Room was a good size, very clean and comfortable. Room service did a great job each day. For a hotel restaurant it was ok, we ate there when we arrived only. My only criticism was that the person in the bar was run off her feet busy, so we waited a long time for a cocktail. Additional bartender would’ve been good to help the poor woman out! Excellent location to access the city and explore. Overall very happy with our stay.

“Enjoyable Stay”

Great location so close to Parliament and areas of interest. Room was large, clean and comfy. Bathroom included a bath. Big comfy bed and we slept well. No noise from the road outside but the air conditioning unit was very noisy.

King Accessible Room. The room was not super large (it's an older hotel) but it was comfortable, clean and adequate. Bed was very comfortable and at a good height. Our pillows were "different" shaped but very comfortable. Plenty of storage space and hangers. Keurig coffee machine that was very easy to use, fridge and a safe. Device charging plugs on bedside tables as well as desk. Bathroom had a huge shower and storage space shelf. Shower chair was available should you need it. Toilet was a perfect height and had a drop down safety bar which was stored upright when not in use. Towels were very soft ! We used valet parking and although it is $45 per day, and many people complain about that price, the alternate cheaper parking was available in a public parking lot close by should you prefer it. HOWEVER, that was the best $45 we spent. Call ahead to order your car, and we never had to wait more than 5 minutes for it be out front. No matter how many times per day you were in and out, you never had to pay more. It is kept in a secured, indoor lot, with no public access. Luggage carts are plenty should you need one. Water station available in the lobby. Great to fill up water bottles before heading out. Dining room was spacious. Prices were incredibly reasonable for a downtown hotel in our nation's capitol ! They also offer "happy hour" between 3 and 5pm and how I know is because they texted us daily. Their communication is EXCELLENT. Whether by email or by text, it is very easy and efficient to communicate and get a response from their staff. Probably the best I've experienced. After hours, you do need your room card to scan and enter the hotel. As for actionable feedback - *Check-in counter had one agent at 4pm, which happens to be their check-in time. Another agent appeared when the line up was 4 deep. And during the day, sometimes there was absolutely no staff at the front desk/entry hall period. *Why are accessible rooms always so far from the elevator? Ours was a bit of a hike from the elevator, so if that's an issue, you can request to be near elevator. I don't think the entry door was any different in size than any of the other doors on our floor, and since it is an accessible room, one would think that there was a way to keep the door open while you entered but we didn't find one. *The tiny tile that was the shower floor was the same floor of the entire bathroom. I've never seen that done before. This was not very pleasant to walk on so we made paths with towels down for comfort. A night light would be a much better option than leaving the bathroom light on all night. The safety bar in the shower was only on the back wall. Could use another safety bar as you exit the shower, for support. *The room could have used a digital clock on a night stand. Be prepared when you turn on the TV. It is VERY LOUD and could wake the dead ! It was very dark in the corner where the arm chair and the little coffee station was so a floor lamp would be useful. *There were always housekeeping carts in the hallway. Random upright vacuum too. Whether it was 9am or 11pm. In closing, I would stay at the Lord Elgin again if the pricing remains competitive.
