At first, our stay didn’t seem very promising — the room lacked a few basic comforts such as bottled water, the bed wasn’t as cozy as expected, and the view wasn’t impressive. However, once we approached the staff, everything changed for the better. Their attentiveness and commitment to guest satisfaction completely turned our experience around. We were upgraded to a room with a breathtaking view and a wonderfully comfortable bed. To our surprise, the team even arranged a delightful birthday cake and served a delicious breakfast the next morning. Their thoughtful gestures truly made us feel valued and cared for. The hotel’s location is perfect for anyone looking to stay in the heart of downtown. Our kids loved the pool and gaming room so much that we hardly wanted to leave the property. Having a Starbucks conveniently located in the lobby was another great bonus. What began as an average experience ended up being a memorable and enjoyable stay, thanks to the outstanding staff and excellent service. We would definitely return and highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area!

Stayed one night for business. Rooms have been renovated and are modern, spacious and super comfortable. I had a room with a gorgeous view of parliament and the river. I was impressed with the hotel and staff. I must mention that Naveen, the evening manager was especially professional and helpful. I recommend the hotel but avoid the restaurant. Dinner was a waste of money.

We stayed in a Deluxe room with two double-beds. It's been disappointing tbh, for a Marriott property. This would have been perfectly serviceable for a Four Points room or at a Residence Inn, or some such. The hotel is currently undergoing renovations, but the room we're in was a post renovations room. Honestly, I did appreciate the design choices made for the hallways, signage etc, but the room itself was disappointing. The room was very sacious, like most rooms in this older property. Furniture was seriously lacking, which made the empty feeling of the room even starker. We were on the 26th floor, didn't have much of a view, unfortunately. The beds were great. Strangely, despite oodles of space, there was one tiny nightstand between both beds, barely sufficient to place two mobile phone next to each other, let alone anything else. Nothing on the sides of each bed, despite plenty of space. There was a coffee maker, but not of the espresso kind, so the coffee was pretty terrible in the room. The bathroom is super tiny, considering the size of the room. Bizarrely so. There's plenty of hair on the floor of the bathroom that wasn't ours, so I can't say I was happy about the state of affairs. The flooring consists of possibly the cheapest laminate the proprietor could find for the renovation, so walking in the room is actually unpleasant, but still probably more hygienic than on the carpets of your average hotel room. My partner commented that the room had the feel of an airport lounge, and that wasn't meant to be a complimentary comment. He's right. The lounge was closed for renovations, so we received two vouchers for bar appetizers in the evening. I must say, kudos to the kitchen, both my partner's duck wings, as well as my mussles and fries, were delicious. They also manage to mix some decent cocktails in the bar, and the pricing is reasonable. I wouldn't hesitate to eat and drink in the bar if I didn't want to go out (trust me, there's nicer food to be had across the bridge in Gatineau, and that's what we came for on this visit). Staff interactions in the bar, and at the reception were excellent, everyone was friendly and professional. The breakfast buffet, well, I had better buffets in plenty of Residence Inn properties, which doesn't reflect well on this Marriott badged hotel. It was basic, but at least the hot items tasted nice, because the chef in the kitchen seems to know what they're doing. But yes, no fresh juices, no salmon, very basic cold-cuts, you get the idea. I can't give this hotel more than an average ranking, given the shortcuts the proprietor has taken during the renovations. This isn't up to Marriott standards, it's nowhere close. In all fairness, the current renovation price point aligns with what is offered, but once renovations have concluded, and this goes back to Marriott pricing, this ain't good value for money, the rooms are just too cheap.
