First time staying at this Holiday Inn Express location, which was very convenient with the free shuttle from Pearson airport. Only downside which I had no idea of and not listed is that the shuttle comes every 40 minutes, even though the drive is 10 minutes, but with traffic would make sense. The hotel was clean, spacious, close to restaurants to eat at, includes a free breakfast, which I did not utilize, and comfortable. The pool was small, but decent, and the hotel tub wasn't much of a hot tub, it's more so made for 1 person. The king sized room with living room I had received was excellent. It was comfortable, spacious, and I enjoyed an excellent sleep in this room. The hotel staff were friendly, professional, and helped answer the questions that I had. They were also very helpful with booking the shuttle. Overall, great value for money, comfortable, spacious, a free shuttle to and from the airport, and a good choice for a close hotel airport.

While the hotel itself was perfectly fine, the shuttle experience was the worst we’ve ever had. First, the positives: the room was clean and comfortable, the beds were great, and we appreciated having both a mini fridge and microwave. The breakfast was excellent and was definitely the highlight of our stay, with lots of options and good quality food. Unfortunately, the airport shuttle service was completely unacceptable. We were a party of seven travelling with young children (ages 4, 5 and 8). After arriving at the airport, we called the hotel and the shuttle driver multiple times to confirm we were waiting at the designated pickup area (F3). It took a full hour for the shuttle to arrive. When it finally did, there were only two seats left, including the unused front passenger seat. Despite this, the driver proceeded to go to another terminal to pick up two more passengers, who said they had also been waiting an hour. The driver then looked at our group and asked if our two young children could share one seatbelt. We refused, as this is clearly unsafe. Instead, one of the newly picked-up passengers sat in the last seat while her husband sat on the floor of the van with no seatbelt at all. What made this even more shocking was that the driver appeared to be saving the empty front passenger seat. He then stopped and picked up a friend, who he allowed to sit in that seat. He was willing to put children at risk and allow a paying guest to sit on the floor without a seatbelt rather than use that available seat. This was completely unacceptable, unprofessional, and unsafe. The hotel itself was good, but the shuttle service left a very negative impression. I would stay again for the room and breakfast, but I would never rely on the hotel shuttle.
