“Great location”

Service is inconsistent. Great location. Not quite up to Andaz standards though.

The hotel location was very close to ByWard Market, which is why we selected it. The hotel looked very nice on the inside, the rooms were clean and quite, although I was surprised by our leaking shower head the next morning. The rooftop bar and patio had very lovely views and decent service. The drink selection was great, and we enjoyed our time at that place as well. It was popular, so if you intend on dinning there as well I would suggest a reservation. We were just there for a drink or two before heading out for our evening, and the staff were very great about squeezing us in. I love room-service when travelling, so I was also very disappointed that I was unable to reach anybody to order for about 30 minutes. I gave up, and requested the car to go out for breakfast instead. We showered, packed up, and left ensuring there was plenty of time for the valet -- unfortunately, front desk did not tell the valet to gather the car. If it's only the location you're interested in, this is a great hotel, however there might be more economical choices considering the increased price did not equal increased guest services.

Had high expectations for our overnight stay but left very disappointed. The occasion was to celebrate an anniversary. There were no instructions regarding valet parking and the street outside was lined with cars, so we had no idea where to go. After leaving our car somewhere we hoped wouldn't be towed, we made it inside to the front desk. There was multiple staff hovering around but it was very chaotic. There was no order to the valet or check in process. Once checked in, we joined quite a long line for the elevators. One of the 3 was not working, many of us waited over 10 minutes for one and then everyone wanted to pile into the one that finally arrived. Arriving in our room, I was sadly surprised with the generic decor, mismatched and uncomfortable furniture, and the "city view" we had was of the hotel being built directly in front of our window. We had hoped to visit the rooftop terrace for a drink later in the evening, but was informed that without a reservation it was not possible. Later on, I requested bathrobes to be brought up(the room listing notes these as part of what is included with the room) only to be told there were none available. The bed was comfortable but there was something wrong with the thermostat and we were way too hot through the night. We did not bother asking for another room as we were only there for 1 night. We did not stick around for breakfast. This was not a hotel environment that makes one want to extend their stay. We booked the King bed room with city view. We were both disappointed with the experience.
