Our recent stay at the Hilton Garden Inn Montreal Downtown was absolutely amazing and the perfect accommodation to end our vacation. The beds were incredibly comfortable, the rooms were spacious, and everything was exactly as advertised. The mini fridge was large and actually cold (which is not always the case!), the water was hot, and there was an abundance of towels. Housekeeping was excellent — each time we left and returned, the room was clean and refreshed. What truly made this stay unforgettable, though, was the kindness and care we received after a really difficult day. We had a horrible experience at another downtown hotel earlier that day that left me extremely emotional and upset. When we arrived at the Hilton Garden Inn on Sunday night, January 18, the manager on duty was absolutely amazing. She was so kind, welcoming, and reassuring, and she genuinely made me feel safe and comfortable. She told me everything would be okay — and it was. She upgraded us to an excellent room, and it completely turned our trip around. We heard great things about the restaurant downstairs, though we didn’t get a chance to try it as it closed earlier than we hoped — but honestly, everything else exceeded our expectations. The location is fantastic — walking distance to everything we needed. Clean, comfortable, friendly, and welcoming. The pool and hot tub were great, only downfall is it was so cold in the room. Freezing when you got out but nice in. Beautiful view. This hotel truly went above and beyond, and we are so grateful. We would 100% stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Montreal.

“Incredible staff and great location!”

We stayed at this Hilton November 5-9. We are a family of four, traveling with our daughter who is disabled. I cannot say enough about the staff who went above and beyond to assist us during our stay. We drove in from New Jersey and my car died two levels down in the underground parking garage. I was in a panic. Nicolas and Edgar at the front desk assisted me in finding a tow truck driver to pull my car out of the garage. Once the driver arrived, Edgar came down and stayed with us, assisting the driver in getting our car out which was not easy. I had my daughter with me while all this was going on so the extra help was really appreciated. On the day we left, we had trouble getting our enormous rental car out of the parking garage and Edgar appeared again to assist us. Additionally, every maintenance worker and member of the cleaning crew we encountered was so kind and helpful. The staff is superb, but the location is also fantastic. We walked to Mount Royal Park, the fine arts museum, Old Town Montreal, and many restaurants. My kids loved the pool. We are so grateful to the staff and will stay here again when we visit Montreal in the future.

“Run down room, poor service”

The best thing about this hotel is its proximity to McGill University. The pool and gym are nice. But the hotel itself is just okay. It's run down. The best thing about this hotel is its proximity to McGill University. The pool and gym are nice. But the hotel itself is just okay. It's run down. There were stains on our bathtub, the towels were frayed, and neither of our bedside table lamps worked. We asked for 3 days for them to be repaired but they never were. As there's very little light in the rooms, it was an inconvenience. The lack of light also makes the desk pretty unusable as a workspace. We opted out of having our room cleaned but when we asked to have garbage removed it was not. In the morning when we left to go for breakfast, there was someone's dirty socks inside the hotel entrance. They were still there hours later when we came back.
