We had five blissful days at the Kimpton Seafire. We booked a partial rewards stay and was super surprised that we were put in a stunning ocean view room. This property is a quick drive from the airport. All of the gentlemen at the valet are responsible for our outstanding first impression. They were all kind, helpful and friendly. Emmanuel welcomed us, unloaded our bags and escorted us to the front desk. I was so impressed that he greeted us by name our entire stay, considering how many people he interacts with daily. Perhaps we made a lasting first impression on him as we arrived driving the incorrect way around the roundabout! We were offered a welcome drink (sparkling wine or fruit punch) while waiting to check in. We did arrive a couple hours before our check-in time. However, we were lucky enough that our room was ready. Check-in was a breeze and the gentleman that helped us was staying with the theme of friendly, kind and helpful. We were escorted to the elevator by a different staff member who mapped out the property for us and provided the restaurant details. Nice touch! We rode the elevator up to the fifth floor, entered room 511 and I was in heaven! You could see the ocean as soon as you open the door through the balcony doors. The room was clean. The bathroom was spacious. I loved the splashes of fuchsia pink throughout the room as that is my absolute favorite color! We did not utilize the daily turn down service or daily room cleaning. We sat on the balcony sipping coffee every morning and watch the sunset almost every night! Room 511 has the perfect view of the sunset. We could also see Venus shining bright from our balcony. We had tacos and margaritas the first night at Cocoloba, both were good, but the sunset was even better! The next morning we got up, grabbed coffee from the complementary coffee bar (6a-19a) and headed to the beach. It was a little after 8 AM and we were greeted by the beach attendant, who kindly led us to two front row chairs and set them up for us. There are signs that say you cannot reserve chairs with personal items however, there were a couple mornings when we went down between 7 AM and 730 AM and there were sandals placed on all of the front row chairs. The beach is perfection with sand as soft as powder and the clearest, calm water. We took floaties, but it appeared that they had some to use as well. There are water stations set up throughout the pool and beach area that also provide sunscreen. There is complimentary snorkel equipment available, and we said we were going to do this every day but never ended up making it down there. They come around throughout the afternoon handing out frozen grapes. Beach service from CocoLobo starts at 11 AM. We did see small stingrays two different days, which was exciting! There is an evening social hour with your choice of red or white wine and a hors d’oeuvre, CapriSuns and fruit snacks for the kids. When we were at starfish point, I noticed someone had a really cute Kimpton Seafire bag. When we got back to the resort, I stopped in the Seafire Supply Co. store to see if I could grab one. Sadly, I didn’t see one. Later that evening, my husband just stopped at the concierge desk to inquire, and she kindly explained that that was for certain rooms or groups. No big deal! When we got to our room that evening there was a bag hanging on our door handle. The concierge had delivered it to our room. Another impressive touch Kimpton. There’s not a lot of food options outside of the property that are “walking distance”. On the days we didn’t feel like leaving the resort, we either grabbed stuff at the pantry or utilized Bento food delivery. Not only is this a STUNNING property, but the staff are WHAT really make it PARADISE. We did not encounter one staff member that was not smiling. We were always greeted with a hello, good morning , good evening or whatever the case may be! We have stayed a lot of places and never encountered “hospitality” like we did at the Kimpton Seafire. Now that we’re home and everyone’s asking us how our grand Cayman trip went. I have been telling them “Grand Cayman was kind underwhelming but our Resort was 100/ 10”. I will conclude by saying we are loyal Hilton Honor Diamond members and have been for the past 25 years. Although I will not be returning to Grand Cayman (only because we never go someplace twice), I will ALWAYS recommend the Kimpton Seafire to anyone who’s visiting Grand Cayman. I will also continue to brag on the Kimpton Seafire anytime I’m speaking about our visit to Grand Cayman. And finally, I will now always check to see if there is a Kimpton property at our next destination! Although I know there’s no comparison, I will now compare all of my future hotel stays to the Kimpton Seafire . Thank you to everyone at the Kimpton Seafire for an unforgettable 47th birthday trip!

“A stunning resort”

Our family of six just returned from a week at Seafire. The accommodations were outstanding, an oceanfront bungalow and corner room suite. Everything about our trip was perfect! From the beach, water and weather to the wonderful atmosphere around the entire resort...awesome! Special shout out to Mary (our concierge) and Sheena (our housekeeper), whose warn and friendly personality was a trip bonus. Please request them if possible. Also, make sure you enjoy time and cocktails in the Library. The servers are definitely worth a visit(s)! We included in our vacation, an excursion to Sting Ray City (a definite must!) We chartered our own private tour with Dylan and Joel from Cayman Catamaran Charters. Great guys who really made the trip a blast! As for the food/dining, make sure you include Morgan's and Mykonos on you list. Excellent! Yes, the Cayman's and Seafire are expensive, especially since it's not an all-inclusive property. It was our first Caribbean vacation not at an all-inclusive. It was costly for us but the memories and time spent with family was priceless. My wife and I are already planning a second trip to the Cayman's and Seafire next year.

The resort is modern, clean and well-kept and about as your would expect for a hotel in this price point. The staff were both friendly and attentive. The food was also great, although if you stay for more than a few days you might consider dining off-resort as the options may start to get repetitive. The reason I don't give it a 5-star is that when the hotel is at occupancy (it was when we were there), the pool area is too small to support the size of the hotel. There is definitely competition for chairs by the pool and people "saving" chairs. There are signs prohibiting this, but it is not enforced. It is also seems to be a factory for corporate retreats and so expect to see large groups together. In sum, a good option for families as there were tons of kids running around and playing catch in the pool. But if you're looking for a quiet getaway with peace, quiet and relaxation, I might consider another option as the hotel footprint doesn't leave much room to get away from the crowds.
