Beautiful hotel with beautiful gardens and small swimming pool. Great environment to relax in, within close proximity to Manquehue metro station. Professional and friendly staff too. It was like landing in an oasis after a long trip.

My rating is based primarily on value rather than quality. First of all the location of this property is it's strength because it is pretty central and near to Manquehue Metro Station AND it sits in some attractive gardens with a small swimming pool. This was the primary reason that we chose this hotel. Check In was efficient and we were able to check in an hour early which was a bonus. The font desk was polite and showed us to our room. We had expected a pool-side room but were advised that there were noisy parties all week and some going on until 5am so we settled for a high floor away from the noise. The architecture is 60s-70s style and is very attractive, The room was spacious enough and set out with a large king bed, table and sofa. The bathroom was small and cramped but everything worked OK and was clean. Unfortunately the safe was broken and despite reporting it to the front desk, it was still broken when we checked out a week later. There is a flat screen TV with mostly Spanish-speaking channels but some foreign news as well. The aircon is badly positioned right next to the bed so when you are sleeping it has to be turned off or you would freeze. The housekeeping staff are friendly and quite thorough which is good. Breakfast seemed dis-organised and I think the management would do well to give the staff lists so that they are more consistent. Some mornings there was missing cutlery, or no butter, or no water. Milk is not marked so you don't know if it is full fat or skimmed. The coffee is some of the worst I have ever tasted and would stay well away from it. One of the machines was broken all week. The toasting machine was on some days badly placed, so that toast fell out the back and on to the floor. Some days there was no orange juice. There is a selection of breads, pastries, cheese and meats. Scrambled Egg and sometimes something else hot. The bar is sporadically staffed and apart from one barman who was quite good, the rest don't know what they are doing when it comes to drinks. For a start there is no drinks menu or price list and when I asked for one I was told that Empanadas was the option! That is food not a drink by the way. When I asked what cocktails they have I just got a shrug so settled for a simple Gin and Tonic. The wines and beers are good but the bar really could be so much better. This hotel is clearly popular for corporate events and it did seem that this was 99% of the focus of attention with 1% towards hotel guests. On one occasion we came down to sun bathe and found that the sun loungers had been taken away and replaced with a dining table set out for a party - right next to the pool! In the end we had to sun bath between several parties who were not very happy to be eating with people swimming right next to them. The pool is not cleaned every day and by Sunday the water level had dropped, filters were not working as a result and the water was turning green. Not good. It was thoroughly cleaned on the Monday which suggests it is a weekly event. I have to say I think the staff here do try but with the exception of housekeeping which is fantastically led, I think there is a clear absence of good leadership, coordination and organisation.
