This was my first trip to Santiago. The hotel/apartment complex was very clean and secure. We had a stove, fridge with all the kitchen utensils, very well furnished if you wanted to do your own cooking. Sebastien & Diana who checked us in were very helpful during our 2 day stay. Although they say they include breakfast, it was really minimal, juice, yogurt and snacks. Also the windows are single pane so be prepared to hear a little noise during the evening. The hotel was very close to the Plaza De Armas and many other interesting sites. There are restaurants in the area but nothing great. However one night we took a taxi to this revolving restaurant which was on a top floor of a building, great food and reasonably priced. You must make reservations. A good way to see the city is taking the the Turistik Tour, Hop on Hop off Bus. If traffic is decent it is a 2 hour trip consisting of 12 stop, well worth the tour.

“Basic flat in the heart of the city”

The place is an apartment building in the city center. Check in is very slow. You need to be escorted to the 4th floor. They wanted to charge me 19% extra for using a credit card. I refused- difficult in Spanish. The room was clean. Had a few utensils in the kitchen. Our wifi password didn't work. … more

The place is an apartment building in the city center. Check in is very slow. You need to be escorted to the 4th floor. They wanted to charge me 19% extra for using a credit card. I refused- difficult in Spanish. The room was clean. Had a few utensils in the kitchen. Our wifi password didn't work. They forgot to give us towels and there was no one to. All after hours. Beds were fine . We couldn't figure out the tv.

For the rate of $88 a night, it wasn't a bad deal. the only thing to add is to look closely at the map where you want to go in terms of visiting. Although most are within walking distance, I would have pref… more

I agree with that below two reviews that alexsw1 and 2feinschmecker said. Not much to add. For the rate of $88 a night, it wasn't a bad deal. the only thing to add is to look closely at the map where you want to go in terms of visiting. Although most are within walking distance, I would have preferred to been closer to bella vista or places with a bit more foot traffic. Not a big deal for me, but families may be wary of staying here because some of the adjacent streets towards plaza de armas are full of hookers and sketchy looking streets at night. During the day, they're great though.
