We stayed there with my family, two young boys, and had a great time. This is an exclusive cabin in Puerto Varas, off the beaten trail a bit but well worth booking if you get the chance. The owner / family lives on property and they also own the Puerto Chico Hotel in town and the Cambalache Restaurant. The cabin is pretty new with a full kitchen, wood burning stove for heat, beautiful views of Lago Llanquihue and Volcan Osorno plus gorgeous view of the stars at night. There is a master bedroom with bath en suite plus three additional beds: bunk beds and a twin bed. Beds are comfortable and both bedrooms have satellite tv (not that we used them with so much to do and see in the area). There is a second bathroom with fancy shower and there was plenty of hot water. The living / dining / kitchen area are all open and lots of space. Off the front of the cabin is a great porch and an expansive sloping yard. Off the back is a grill house with both a smoker and a brick grill which is well supplied with tools. There are three dogs on property and they are very friendly. The kids enjoyed the trampoline and being outdoors. The cabin is cleaned once a day (except weekends) and yes, there is wifi. The signal is a little weak but certainly can connect, get emails and research the area.Grocery stores are pretty easy to get to with a Santa Isabela right in town plus a Lider and a Jumbo. Krause Lodge was a little hard to find at first and there was no signage out front to indicate you had arrived. Once we found it, Daniça Krause greeted us with a bottle of wine and a tour around the cabin. Daniça speaks English for those who don't speak Spanish and she was great at communicating with us, sending me an email in advance asking about our arrival and sending me a pair of emails during our stay with recommendations of what to do and see in the area. Incredibly nice and very helpful. Overall, Krause Lodge is a great find with wonderful southern Chilean hospitality. Easy access to Ruta 5 and 15 minutes from downtown Puerto Varas. Once you are oriented, it is a great base to explore the area around Lago Llanquihue. Over five days we did a tour of Puerto Varas, Canopy (zip line) on Cerro Philippi, Volcan Osorno, Petrohue, Lago de Todos Los Santos, Frutillar, Casa de Te Lavanda (Frutillar), Museo Colonial Aleman (Frutillar) Espantapajaros (Puerto Octay - highly recommend with or without children). If you have a chance to book Krause Lodge, do it, you won't regret it!
