It bedrooms are five stars with big beds and clean, ask to a non smoking room if you are not a smoker, it is quiet and the stafs are very friendly, the breakfast is not so nice to western people, there is a marked near the hotel in the orher side of the avenue. If you want you can order a driver service to reasonable price. It is free to wash two clothes every day.

“A good hotel with some minor irritations”

I stayed at this hotel for eight nights on business. It is rated as a five star hotel, I would rate it maybe four stars. The service was generally excellent. I ate at all the restaurants in the hotel during my stay and the selection and quality of the food was generally good. I tried room service one night when I got back from work late. I ordered a club sandwich. It was delivered on time and the presentation on the tray was impressive including a fresh carnation in a small vase and a pressed linen napkin. The sandwich was delicious. All this for just $11! I used the fitness facility three times. There was a limited selection of machines, including two treadmills. All the machines were however in good condition and service attendants were attentive, delivering fresh towels and water to me without my requesting them after my workout. One irritation was that the workout facility only opened at 6:30 AM, too late for me to workout, have breakfast and get to work on time. The weather during my stay in June was hot and oppressive. While on most days the air conditioning in my room was adequate, during three nights it was turned off at 2 AM and not turned on again until 6 AM. My room became very uncomfortable and I found it impossible to sleep on these three nights after the AC was turned off. I complained to the front desk staff when this first happened, but nothing was done to correct this problem. Despite this relatively significant failing I would probably consider staying here again, certainly during colder weather.

I had a great stay at this large Hotel, very friendly and polite staff, efficient porterage and room cleaning, one night my bed was turned down and a welcome note placed. Very comfortable bed and room with a wall sized window into the bathroom, very romantic while ones partner bathes, but with a handy remote control to close the blind when going for a No. 2. While I was on the 10th floor with great views, I explored from the lift some other floors. Most were under massive refurbishment, and I think it was floor 8; I stepped out the lift onto polythene sheet on the floor, stepladders and sundry tools, then the door closed behind me plunging me into darkness. When the refurbishment is finished, to presumably Sofitel standards (I think it has changed ownership) it will be a fantastic hotel, though not in walking distance of any shops or restaurants, still, Taxis are cheap and the efficient porter will advise one.
