nestled in the traditional hutong of Beijing, cosy nice hotel if you want to move around the hutong and confucius temple and drum and bell towers. lots of food in south of drum tower lane (nan luo gu jie).

Lo primero que sorprende es que en recepción apenas hablan otro idioma que no sea el chino mandarín. Algo que solventan genial con traductores simultáneos de móvil y con una sonrisa eterna en la cara. Hotel orientado a la clientela local pero cómodo y barato. Las habitaciones con cama tradicional no tienen desperdicio. Tuvimos algún problema con la hab. pero nos cambiaron. No pidas el desayuno para llevar, te darán dos rebanadas de pan de molde, un huevo duro y una bolsa de leche. El desayuno en buffet: alucinante. Puedes contratar excursiones que están bastante bien. First of all, reception can slight understand some English but they try hard as they use translation app always with a big smile. Hotel oriented to locals but comfortable and cheap. Don’t miss rooms with traditional bed. We had a problem with our room but we got changed. Don’t asked for the packed breakfast, you will be provided with a plastic bag with 2 bread loafs, a boiled egg and a 200ml milk bag. Otherwise the buffet breakfast is amazing. You can hire interesting excursions at the reception counter.

It is not easy to find this hotel as the road to the main entrance is small and our bus cannot enter and we have to alight from the outside and carry our luggage in which is quite a distance. It is not easy to find this hotel as the road to the main entrance is small and our bus cannot enter and we have to alight from the outside and carry our luggage in which is quite a distance. Worst thing is that the bus is not allowed to wait on the road and we have to quickly unload our luggage when reached. Surrounding the hotel, there are quite a numbers of restaurants or eateries, there’s also a stretch of food street where you can find a lot of eateries. This is one of the good point on the hotel location. The room we got was quite small with a king side bed. The bed was quite hard but is ok for one night stay. It has a very cultural design. Deposit of RMB200 per room per night is required while checking in. The breakfast is a disappointment as the food are cold and not to my taste. Overall the hotel is satisfactory except for the breakfast and the accessibility by bus.

If you are a westerner who's never been to China before you will encounter a few issues at this property. 1. When it's hot there is no AC in the lobby, hallways, or elevators. The power in your room is dependent on your key card (could not fool it with another card...) which means the AC will only be on while you are in the room. 2. The breakfast has a few western options but is more catered to a Chinese traveler. There are many places within 5-10 minutes walking to grab an early bite if you don't like the provided buffet. 3. Shower pressure is weak. 4. The staff speaks limited to no English. This is very common in all of China, so make sure to have patience and a translation app on your phone. The location in the Hutongs is awesome! So close to the shopping street and tons of restaurants and bars. The rooms are clean, spacious, and have real toilets. Stop whining and enjoy the city!!

I stayed here for seven days, and was impressed by the entrance hallway - quite cozy! The receptionists I spoke to spoke well enough English, and check-in and check-out was easy. During my stay there was a lot of construction work in the adjacent building (right outside my window). They worked seven days a week, from 8 AM till as late as 9 PM on some days. It didn't affect my sleep, however. It was easy to hear people traversing the hallway outside my room though, and vice versa. There's free WiFi, and my room had air-conditioning, a safe, a small fridge, and a daily refill of two water bottles. The bed was quite good as well. Do note, however, that the fridge does not work unless you're in the room (i.e. the key card is in the card holder to turn the electricity on). It was quite dirty on the floor, behind furniture, and dust had accumulated on top of the hanging bed canopy. I found some long dark hairs on the carpet, too. I can look past and forgive the construction work, but I would expect a cleaner room. The bed itself was clean though, as well as the bathroom. The location is in my opinion amazing. A short walk to the metro, bus stops, tons of restaurants, shopping street, a grocery store, and many parks and attractions. If you can look past the unclean room and possibility of loud noises, then it's a good place to stay for exploring Beijing.
