“Great service”

Stayed 2 nights during Chinese New Year, with the city partially closed due to the corona-virus situation. The staff were incredibly helpful and professional. The rooms are clean and confortable - perhaps not too spacious if you are bringing big luggage.

Authentic Hutong Charm with Exceptional Service Rating: 4/5 Stars We specifically chose this hotel for its unique location deep within a traditional Beijing Hutong, seeking an authentic, local experience, and it absolutely delivered on that front. This is not a sterile chain hotel; it offers a real, "living like a local" vibe, which we appreciated. Location & Vibe: The surrounding Hutong area is safe, vibrant, and packed with great shops and restaurants (we highly recommend splurging on the set menu at DaDong, which is an easy walk and the staff can book for you). The atmosphere is authentic, right down to the narrow, busy streets where you need to be aware of passing scooters and cars—it’s all part of the charm. The hotel’s communal areas, including the bar, have a nice aesthetic and serve as a pleasant local hangout with cheap drinks. Rooms & Amenities: Our room was clean, well-organized, and remarkably quiet, allowing us to sleep well. A major highlight was the bathroom: it was modern and featured an excellent shower, meeting a very high standard. We also appreciated the cool bed surround lighting, which was useful at night. A note for first-time visitors to Beijing: they use a basket for toilet paper, which is a local standard and part of the cultural experience. While the rooms are comfortable, the hotel overall does feel a little more "used" than the professional photos might suggest. Exceptional Staff: The staff service was the biggest differentiator, though slightly inconsistent. We must give special recognition to Miya, whose English was excellent and who was incredibly helpful (she even walked us to the nearest subway on her way home). She is a true asset to the business. Another gentleman at the front desk was consistently kind, caring, and always greeted us with a smile. Language barriers make interacting with some of the other staff more difficult and can affect the feeling of connection. A Note on Booking: Get Alipay and set it up before you arrive in China. Easy to use there is an english interface and most people only take Alipay or another tap/scan method. Our arrival was unfortunately hampered by a booking mix-up: the Deluxe room with a private terrace was not available. We were offered an alternative room and a partial discount, but the replacement (three beds, two pushed together to make a makeshift king) was not the high standard we had booked, which was a disappointing start to the stay. Despite the initial booking issue, the location, cleanliness, and the exemplary service from key staff members like Miya made this a memorable and worthwhile choice for anyone seeking a truly authentic, non-chain Beijing experience.

“Turned off by smoking allowed in lobby”

Place is cosy with buffet breakfast. Service staffs are very friendly and helpful too. However they allowed smoking in the lobby dining area which is very unhealthy especially for children. When going back to our rooms from outside, we have to walk pass the dining area with people smoking.
