So I went to Beijing two weeks ago. For the first nights, I stayed in the Waldorf Astoria, for the remaining nights I stayed in the Rosewood (review also online here on TripAdvisor). About the Waldorf Astoria: Location: Perfect! If you wanna go sightseeing, this is the perfect hotel. It is close to Hutongs, forbidden palace,… Room: I was in a King Premier Room (think 411 or 410). Very nice room! Good design, huge bathroom, nice salon, good bed,… Loved it! Only one thing was a bit annoying: the doors of the rooms are sided two by two, and when they close, they tend to make a lot of noise. So if your neighbor room enters/leaves, you hear the doors banging in your room. Breakfast: as everywhere in Asia: the best! F&B: I had dinner in the bar several times, the food was superb! I have to say, even in the hotel, the knowledge of English was minimum... But no worries, everything worked out fine! The staff was super friendly.

Impeccable concierge service. One of the best I’ve experienced in a China first tier city. I’ve been to five star hotels in shenzhen and guangzhou and the english standard were not as high. Staff were helpful and patient despite we were there at a peak season. Helpful everytime we got off the taxi they would open the trunk and carry our stuff when they saw our hands were full. My son pooped his diaper on the way home and I asked for plastic bags because i was afraid the diaper disposal would be smelly i literally just asked and left the lobby and they sent it up so quickly. Gave us a late check out to help with our late flight departure. All in all good location and excellent english communication and service.

It was a first time stay with Hilton top tier hotel and while I read good reviews about the hotel and there were also bad ones so was really anticipating how my stay would be. Waldorf Astoria Beijing lived up to great expectations and from the moment I alighted from the airport transfer, I was well taken care off till I got checked in to my room. Since it was Christmas, the atmosphere was really festive and warmth while I was blazing in a -7 degrees cold winter but my heart was filled with warmth for sure. The room was well stocked with the amenities and given a Wangfujing view was great. The breakfast at Brasserie restaurant was given lots of food choices to accommodate diversity of the guests. However, a minor episode happened when I requested for teaspoon twice and the young waiter and waitress didn’t seem to understand what I need as I would typically assume if I was served tea and it should come with a teaspoon as a complete set. Probably, some retraining and English training required as they do not seemed to comprehend my ask. So I turned to the F&B manager who was connecting with rear of diners in English and I given my feedback and my ask, was resolved quickly and he continued to assure me that the staffs were given due training. Overall, I was highly satisfied with my 4 nights stay. While I did made a feedback that since I booked a higher tier room, the complimentary cocktail and one time use of minbar should be reconsidered for the entire 4 nights stay to demonstrate value to hotel guests.

We have the opportunity to stay in the following two category of rooms mainly the one bedroom suite and the two double beds deluxe room. One bedroom - room size was huge and comes with two toilets which are very convenient for my family of 4. Bathroom was super spacious with a big bathtub and love the heated towel rack especially during winter which keep the towels warm. The deluxe room- it comes with two double beds and also a sitting area which was surprisingly very comfortable too comparable to the one bedroom suite. Downside- water pressure not strong enough and apparently the Aircon mode for heater doesn't really work in the room. Even though the Aircon was off, the room was still freezing. Breakfast comes with semi buffet and also half ala carte menu. Restaurant was pretty small though especially during peak hours and you may need to wait for table. Special shout out to the concierge staff especially Xiaomu and David who went out of the way to assist us during our stay! They are definitely a gem to the hotel! Location was perfect too walkable to the Wafujing walking street and Forbidden city too. Highly recommended!
