“Professional”

The hotel was amazing and beautiful, the staff their was really great the rooms are big and spacious lighting was really good , specially washroom was clean and really spacious. Location was also good you have sports arena besides their where you can watch people playing and walking.

The China Mayors Plaza hotel is rated 4 stars but should be 4 and a half stars. I learned after my first trip to China to never go below a 4 star property. The Hotel is a very impressive property from the outside view and all the experiences we had inside the property were also satisfying. The room was a good size and contained all that would be expected in a 4 star property. The room was spotless and cleaned daily. On one occasion during our 4 day stay, a housekeeping supervisor contacted us to make sure we were happy with the standard of the cleaning. The Hotel is just around the corner from Linhexi MTR station on line 3 (orange line ) which made travelling around Guangzhou very easy. Some advice if travelling on Line 3 from the south ( Panyu Sq ) to the north ( Airport South ) The line splits at Tiyu Xilu ( even though it is the same colour line and same line number ) so to get to Linhexi, Guangzhou East train station and beyound you must change trains at Tiyu Xilu. The Hotel has a Western restaurant and Chinese restaurant both good ( But a word to the Hotel management; the carpet in the Chinese restaurant is well overdue for a steam clean or carpet shampoo ) The breakfast buffet had enough choice to keep most people happy but because of the dimensions of the room where the buffet is served, the Hotel is limited by space as to what it can display. Check in was Ok but staff working on reception could be encouraged by the Hotel to improve their English, having said that, Winnie was very helpful and easy to communicate with. Although we were not in Guangzhou to attend the Canton Fair, we were there when it was on and I noticed the Hotel had a Shuttle bus to take the many Western delegates to and from the Fair. If you are travelling to Guangzhou, I have no hesitation in recommending the China Mayors Plaza.

The double room was a good size, the decor was quite dated and slightly dusty but the beds were comfortable. Breakfast was a varied spread, they had an omelette bar which I enjoyed. Unfortunately the buffet food was often slightly cold. The lifts were extremely slow during working hours, likely due to the offices on the upper floors. All the staff were very helpful and overall my stay here was comfortable.
