Hilton Foshan Shunde

“Will definitely stay here again!”

Hilton Foshan Shunde is a good place to stay at if you are doing business in Shunde. Conveniently located at the heart of Shunde Ronggui, there are plenty of restaurants around. The hotel itself is pretty new, spacious, quiet, with easy access to many places.

We chose this hotel as the first stop on our trip to China. Shunde is often referred to as the capital of gastronomy, so starting our journey here felt like the perfect way to begin a food & scenary focused trip. The hotel’s location is quite convenient. Before arrival, I emailed the hotel asking for directions. Sheldon from the concierge team responded and provided several transportation options. I was surprised that the response came from the concierge team rather than a guest services manager, but of course every hotel organizes its departments differently. During our stay, however, we never had the chance to meet Sheldon as he was on vacation. We did meet Jayden and Augus whom assisted us for maps and pharmacy. Google doesn't work and we are new to using Amap. At checkout we did briefly meet Miki, who appeared to be either the guest services manager or the manager on duty that day. While speaking with Miki, I shared some feedback from a loyalty perspective. As Hilton Diamond members, we are accustomed to some additional breakfast options at many properties outside China—such as a small à la carte menu available exclusively to gold and diamond guests. That option was not offered here, and we were also not directed to a designated seating area sometimes reserved for elite members. It was not a major issue, but perhaps operational practices vary by country. As for the room itself, we were upgraded to a room on the 22nd floor with a great view. The bed was comfortable, the wifi worked well, and the water pressure and temperature control were excellent. The only minor drawback was a slight odor in the shower area. They use Crabtree & Evelyn products. Breakfast was elaborate with a wide selection of options. Interestingly, we met a Thai chef who was training the kitchen staff in preparation for an upcoming Thai food festival scheduled for April. The executive lounge is interesting because no one helped to prepare drinks and we did it ourselves. The snacks or food weren't labeled and the staff didn't speak English. Fyi, Google translate doesn't work in China. Location-wise, the hotel is convenient. We mainly used DiDi (Uber) to get around, and rides were affordable via AliPay. The hotel is also connected to a large shopping mall with plenty of clothing stores, restaurants, pharmacies, and other everyday conveniences. If you have questions during your stay, the concierge desk is still the best place to start—they can provide umbrellas, directions, and general assistance. That said, the level of enthusiasm and engagement felt a bit different from what we have experienced in some other countries. It may simply reflect a different style of hospitality that we are still getting used to. Overall, this is still a solid hotel in a convenient location!
