We stayed on the top floor. The room was the standard high quality spacious room with desk and large double bed one expects. The bathroom was fine with separate shower room and the glass partition into the living space. The wifi was fine modulo the great firewall of china which means that the only search engine is bing and Netflix is non-existent. Just came from 5* hotel in Shenzhen. Interesting to compare. Room very similar but this one slightly more conservative but better desk. Wifi better. No executive communal area where one could take complimentary light meals etc. Good well used gym and workout area. Breakfast had a much smaller selection and the eggs were cold! But overall I found it much more personable and quite effective. They made me an Americano personally when I asked for a coffee. Definitely limited but good. Locally there are only a few restaurants with western menu and one night we went. Three of us came in with a modest meal for 120 yuan in total. It was nice and the environment modern. Another night we dined at the ground floor restaurant in the hotel. Had three dishes ( beef with peppers, grilled squid, stir fried vegetables) between two of us, a pearl beer, and a nice desert. It was all good. Totally enjoyed it without pretensions. They were flexible when we did not want to check out till 4pm. Walking distance to south China university of technology and near the east station with direct trains to Hong Kong.

The Honder is a good choice in Guangzhou. It appears to be quite new, and is very clean throughout. Staff are friendly, the rooms are spacious and well appointed, and the breakfast buffet is good. It is not directly in the heart of the action, but easy enough to cab most anywhere, and it is perfectly located if you have business at South China University of Technology. Most notable, for all that, the price is quite reasonable.

The food was of a good standard with plenty of choice for western travellers. There is free WiFi available and the staff were polite and helpful. A very comfortable choice if you are staying in Guangzhou.

I stayed at Honder International hotel last week during the Canton Fair. This is my second time staying here. It's very convenient if you are looking for the hotel during the import and export fair event. The hotel provides the shuttle bus in several time to take you there and very comfortable bus. The hotel is very clean, quiet and comfortable. Only one thing, the staffs don't really speak much English. Therefore, it's hard to communicate or get the information about the hotel, the fair or the city. The Chinese Restaurant is really good and the price is reasonable. But non of the staffs in the restaurant can speak English. However, the staffs still provide very good service and try to help you out in every way even quite hard to communicate. It's still impressive! The hotel breakfast is great too. It comes with different types of food :) The hotel is very safe and clean. that's how I like about it the most.
