We spent eight nights at the Vienna on the Zhongshan Road and we found it to be very clean and conveniently located - close to restaurants, ( McFound, Chungji), small markets for fresh fruit and snacks, walking distance from the Starbucks (walk out of the hotel, turn left and walk on the left side of the Zhongshan Road) and across the street from Bank of China. We had room 961 which was large, clean, with a nice view of the city and the river, good A/C, flat screen TV and safe box. It was very clean, had a reasonably large bathroom and all the amenities expected from a much more expensive hotel. Yes, the breakfast is all Chinese and very little English is spoken by the hotel staff, but you cannot beat the location, the comfort, the view and the price. We would surely stay at this hotel again, next time we are in Guilin.

Vienna Hotel in Zhongshan town is a luxury hotel at budget tariff. The lobby is large and grand with bright chandelier lighting. The hostess at the check in counter is very efficient. Vienna Hotel in Zhongshan town is a luxury hotel at budget tariff. The lobby is large and grand with bright chandelier lighting. The hostess at the check in counter is very efficient. The hotel rooms are massive with king size beds and nice lounge sofas offering a lavish British ambiance. The bathroom had a glass separation. The toiletries are minimalist but has all the essentials. Great value for money as the tariff is ridiculously inexpensive. Strongly recommend this hotel

This was my third trip to Guilin and, of course, my third stay at the Vienna Hotel on Zhongshan Road. Everything was just as convenient, pleasant and efficient as I remember from the previous stays and they even reserved for me the same river view room I had in the previous years (# 961). If you want a centrally located, reasonably priced hotel with all the amenities expected from a much more expensive outfit, I recommend giving the Vienna Hotel Zhongshan a try.

The hotel is in an excellent, central location. Magnificent entrance, large rooms beautifully furnished, new and large bathrooms. The beds are large and comfortable. Very clean. The staff very eager. The rooms on the upper floors have good views. Pleasant surprise is its very low price. The difficulty of communicating. Only one of the shift officials speaks a few English. The other only Chinese.
