If you are staying at The Sanya EDITION, you have to eat at Beach Barbacoa. The whole experience of eating phenomenal Indonesian-inspired seafood right on the sand is unmatched. The live music, starry sky, and perfectly grilled dishes make for an incredible night out. The staff was incredibly welcoming and anticipated every need. The room was immaculate—minimalist, sophisticated, and incredibly comfortable, with a beautiful standalone soaking tub, Le Labo bath products, and a gorgeous balcony view of the South China Sea.

No hotel has wowed me and my wife so much compared to the Sanya Edition. We have stayed at some luxurious places. (Eg. Ritz Carlton/Alila/Park hyatt). I can tell you why this hotel stands above all the rest of the hotels I have visited. This hotel is secluded; you cannot enter without being a guest at a hotel. We went through the entrance security, passing through a grand entrance of beautiful trees. The lobby is just stunning. Julie, who has contacted us earlier about our arrive, greeted us and help us settling down. We arrived a bit early so we waited at their lounge for the room to be prepared and had some refreshements. As we walked around the hotel, it feels like a giant art work. a giant lagoon in the middle of the hotel. it is very aesthetic pleasing just looking around. There are many upscale stores around the hotels. Compared to the next door Crown Plaza, with kids running around, this hotel feels quiet and peaceful. Once the room was prepared, we went up to our room. My platinum status was recognized and room was upgraded to suite. The room has a nice balcony overlooking the ocean and the surrounding palm trees. Bedding was comforble and. it has a minimalistic feel. Everything feels new, the sofa, futon, etc. No smell of anything which is quite impressive given this is a 10-year old hotel. Throughout our stay, we are constantly greeted by the hotel staff. We tried some lagoon activities like the bicycle boat and the kayak. At night the hotel glitters with decorative lights. The food was great at the Chinese restaurant Xianhai, again great service by the staff there. Instead of going to the restaurant on foot, we chose to go on a BOAT in the lagoon, which was pretty cool. Hotel ground is quite large. Thankfully there are golf buggies which will help you move around the the hotel. We must have used 10+ buggy rides throughout our stay. The beach is accessible but not swimmable due to waves. There are outside vendors selling ATV rides and jetski rides. The breakfast was top notch. It gets pretty crowded but enough tables for everyone. It has a grat display of chinese and western food. Many types of juices to choose from. Not only is the breakfast great, the service there who recognize you by name is quite good. While it is walkable to the CDF mall close by, it would be quite hot to do so. We just drive our car there. It has all kinds of fashion (Phase 1) and restaurants (Phase 2, which is connected by a bridge). Something to do around the hotel. The Atlantis water park is also close by, which is great to spend in the afteroon if you have teenagers. We were in constant communication with Julie, who often chimes in about our stay and gives recommendations. It was sad we had to leave for home. When we left, she was all smile, tool a photo with us and left us a great impression how customer service can go as far as being a friend. We appreciated her service and made it a perfect stay for us. We will definitely recommend this hotel to anyone.

The Sanya EDITION is truly heaven on earth. I’ve visited six times now, and it always feels like coming home. I wholeheartedly recommend the Sanya EDITION to anyone leading a busy, fast-paced life—time simply stands still the moment you step onto the property. The architecture itself has a calming, grounding effect, reconnecting you fully with nature and wrapping you in complete tranquility. Every member of staff anticipates every single need; they know you better than you know yourself. They do not merely cater to your explicit requests, but thoughtfully anticipate small touches that amplify relaxation and elevate your entire stay at this magical resort. On this trip, we were incredibly fortunate to be looked after by the incredible Julie—elle est magnifique! Warm, affable, welcoming, thoughtful, patient, quick-witted, and endlessly responsive. From the second we pulled up and she opened our car door, all the way until we boarded the plane going home, she tended to our every want morning, noon, and night. Aware our trip marked a special occasion, she meticulously curated every detail: perfecting our suite and coordinating all bespoke arrangements to craft the seamless romantic getaway we’d envisioned. We stay at top-tier luxury hotels across the globe, and I can confidently say Julie delivered an experience that outshines every other we’ve had. She liaised seamlessly across every hotel department to tailor our entire itinerary. Unexpectedly, a typhoon hit mid-stay, yet Julie pre-emptively mapped out a full backup plan the moment we arrived. She ensured we did not miss out on any of the resort experiences we’d planned, minimising disruption from the storm entirely. She arranged a breathtaking poolside luncheon at the sky bar, complete with our favourite cocktails and dishes sourced from the beach club, which had closed temporarily for safety protocols. I also want to extend my sincere thanks to Allen at the sky bar. He crafted incredible custom off-menu cocktails just for us and even arranged for shisha to be delivered all the way from the city centre—truly going above and beyond expectations. This was my boyfriend’s first time at the resort, and he said something that perfectly summed up how we both feel: “Coming here with you feels like returning home to family and old friends.” We are endlessly thankful to every single team member for their impeccable care, which made us feel welcome and at ease once more. We will absolutely return soon. Our gratitude extends to every staff member: Jordi, Julie, and Allen, alongside housekeeping, servers, shuttle cart drivers, concierge, butlers, lifeguards, porters, and pool attendants—especially Shakil! This was our third stay with him, and his attention to detail is remarkable. He remembers all our dietary preferences and go-to drinks, and even asks after our parents, who usually join us on our trips. Another unforgettable stay at the Sanya EDITION. We cannot wait to come back.

The hotel is about an hour drive from the airport. The area around the hotel is pretty quiet and it pretty close to the duty free shop(10min walk). I like the environment here at the hotel where people are very helping and the experience was crazy good. The room is very clean and tidy, able to see the sea right in the balcony. The amenities is also good, i went to the gym is very clean and all the stuff needed are provided. They provide Le Labo washing sets in the room which is exactly my favorite, Noir 29. They've also assign me a service guy named Wendy, she is very nice and helpful, made the experience even better. Overall, its a 10/10 stay.
