I had such a wonderful experience in this charming boutique hotel. The hotel is location is just right by the river and all the historic alley & buildings, which give you the feeling that you are back in the old suzhou. If you are lucky enough to visit during the blossom of osmanthus tree, you can wake up with the pretty flower smells :) I love the design of the hotel rooms (really strong water pressures which is rare in China), the courtyard, the restaurant , common area etc. What's make this such a wonderful experience is the attentive service and heart warming hospitality receive from the staffs, and I would like to do a special shout out to the manager yoyo! She is so nice even make us a mooncake & brew us Chinese tea for mid-autumn festival. What I like most is the common centre/living room in the hotel, me and my friends actually love spending time there at night and even make some good friends with other guests staying here too. Also, don't forget to try the restaurant located in the hotel, they serve really authentic Suzhou cuisine & don't forget to try their home brew osmanthus wine :)

Blossom Hill Inn Tanhuafu is a beautiful inn set in traditional Chinese-style buildings, complete with serene courtyards and a lovely garden pond that captures the charm of Suzhou’s famous classical gardens. My first room was on the second floor, but the flooring beneath the plush carpet was noticeably uneven. More concerning was the lit mosquito coil in the air-conditioned bathroom—completely inappropriate for an enclosed space, and frankly, a health hazard. I felt suffocated, had difficulty breathing, and developed a headache. Fortunately, the staff were understanding and promptly arranged a room change. The new room on the ground floor was much better—clean, well-ventilated, and with no unpleasant odors. However, noise was an issue. I could hear heavy footsteps from the room above and conversations from the neighboring room. That said, this is somewhat expected in a historic building with traditional architecture. Both rooms were beautifully decorated, spacious, and featured comfortable beds. Cleanliness throughout the inn was commendable, and the staff were warm, hospitable, and helpful throughout my stay. It is also not accessible via vehicle and a short walk to the main road is needed. However, it is very near to Pingjiang road. Overall, it’s a picturesque and memorable place to stay—just be mindful of the room conditions and potential noise.

“Nice “old Suzhou “ hotel”

Recently spent a night at this old, renovated (100 yr old) hotel . Arrived there at night, our tour guide called the hotel and the bellman waited for us at the entrance to a parking lot, took our luggage and walked us through a dark narrow alley ( short cut) to the hotel. Rooms were very comfortable with modern renovations. However, there was a cold draft in the toilet that made it uncomfortable whenever you were in the bathroom. Also, the walls were very thin, and we could hear everything going on in the adjoining room. Location was great as a block away was a very quaint river/shopping street that obviously cater more to the locals as the prices were definitely less than in the usual tourist areas of Suzhou. The restaurants in this area were also very good. Enjoyed our stay at this boutique hotel, but was glad that we spent only one night as the draft made the toilet and room uncomfortably cold without any way for controlling the temperature.
