I stayed in the hotel for three nights in 2016. For the recent trip, I went back to this hotel for a lunch with my whole family for 10 people! The reservation was very efficient. A gentleman (sorry I forgot his name) was very professional and very responsive! The dish were very fresh and flavorful! The ladies who serviced us were all very nice and very pleasant! We all had a very good time! I will go back for lunch or dinner again and will refer to my friends too! Thank you very much! Tanglong’s restaurant!

I booked myself in this hotel as the result of a last minute arrangement which needed to be close to the convention centre. Most rooms were fully booked by the time I tried getting rooms during that time so I thought I gave this one a go. I stayed in the Deluxe one bedroom suite which was priced slightly above the average price but slightly cheaper than a normal room you would find at the Westin or the Wydham. The hotel room was really nice. It had really nice trimmings and a luxurious look. The room came with a comfortable king sized bed with all the electronic control circuits available from the bed. The bath comes with a rain shower and a bathtub with a TV if you intend to have sit in the tub for a very long time. The room also has tube music which can be controlled from the living area. I really liked the room however the first I stayed, it was rather hot and despite setting the air-cond to full power at 17 degrees Celsius it remained at only 25 degrees. When I spoke to the reception, the answer was they had kept it that way because in the night the air is colder. Yeah, right. Her suggestion to open the window was also stupid as you would want to avoid this very much as Xi'an is always covered in haze which suggests a high API i.e. pollution in this city. Nevertheless, the second night was fine as the air-cond seems to work well. The service as a whole was quite good. My only problem is that the staff has a poor command of the English language. When I arrived at about 1 am in the morning, it felt it was not the best time to try to establish "first contact" with the native there. However, I must give them an A+++ to have tried their best to assist whatever they can. The staff even assisted me to direct and even walked me to the opposing conference centre where my meeting was held. Their reception also do not offer currency exchange services which is very strange indeed for a 5-star hotel. Upon arrival to the main area, the hotel appeared quite grand with an atrium that opens up to all the floors leading to their rooms. The lounge was very comfortable but again the atmosphere was too warm for me. They could improve it by bringing down the temperature a bit. Another thing I noticed about the way the hotel operates is that, instead of asking for authorization amount on your credit card, the hotel charges a price much higher than the amount of your room upfront only to promise to return the difference after a few days. I have yet to receive it, and will tell everyone if they honour their promises. My stay there was relatively short and I did not have the chance to try their full facilities such as their indoor pool etc. But I would not recommend having lunch there as the food at the lunch wasn't up to the 5 star mark they had promised on their website, although the prices they charge on their menu were that one would expect for an exclusive hotel in Western Europe.To be honest the food there was bad. The breakfast was included with the room and their choices were barely edible. SO do not expect much here. As a whole, my experience there was rather good. Although I would think that for the amount I had paid I would have expected better service and products, but I suppose one can't have everything. It would be best for potential patron to not have too high an expectation of this hotel despite the website promising this, as you may be slightly disappointed.
