Stayed here for 3 days during my 8-day trip in China. 1) Comfortable and calm atmosphere. Didn't really hear the traffic noise. 2) Clean and spacious room with comfortable beds. 3) Good selection of breakfast (Must try their waffle and yoghurt!) 4) The room temperature can be adjusted easily. 5) Separate shower and toilet area. Good: Provided with non-slipping mat Bad: Had difficulty to pull the wood divider to cover the bathroom area. The shower has normal water strength. Didn't get to explore other amenities as our schedule is quite packed. Heard there's a big shopping mall within walking distance of 15 minutes (It closes around 10 pm).

Booked two rooms as a Diamond Ambassador member. Should let other elite members know to expect exactly what is to be expected. No complimentary suite upgrades which was stated by front desk. You must pay for it during the busy times. That is fair enough but they do upgrade those guests who booked on OTAs to suites during the summer time. They cannot say that the summer time is not considered peak time. Other IHG branded hotels go above and beyond what is required which would make me want to either go back to that hotel for a future stay or to recommend it to others. The room was clean and organized. Housekeeping was very kind and hardworking. The food served in the main restaurant was very ordinary. Not tasty at all. You can check out at two pm but no later than that. They do offer complimentary welcome fruit platter as well as complimentary drink vouchers. There is a mall not too far from the hotel which you can reach by walking ten to fifteen minutes. When you exit the hotel go to the main road that is in front of the hotel and turn left and walk a few blocks. As of now, no metro station but there are bus stops. The nearest metro station is Ocean University which is about a 30-40 minute walk to the hotel. Still quite far from the downtown attractions. What was confusing was that a Voco hotel was right next to the Hualuxe hotel but it did not seem that it was a fully functional Voco as it could not be booked on the IHG app. Not sure if it has been repurposed by the hotel owner. Is it possible that the Hualuxe and Voco are the same hotel????
