The location of the hotel is great as it is near Disneyland Shanghai (only 15 minutes by car). The hotel also provide free shuttle bus leaving@ 0730hrs and return @ 2130hrs daily. That is the perfect timing as you need not rush with the crowd before and after the visit. Most importantly is that you can view the whole performance of the firework show. Besides the hotel also provide free service to and fro Puddong International Airport but at specific schedule and MRT station transfer. The only downside is the staff of the hotel may discourage guest to use the free service and offer the private service alternative. Also supermarkets, dinning outlets, restaurants are many nearby and all within 5 to 10 minutes walk.

“The Royal hotel once again treat's you like a ....”

The Royal hotel once again treat's you like a King, they gave me a very quiet room after a hectic time in the Pudong airport, I appreciate their service and breakfast! Going to Pudong airport in Shanghai recommend resting one night at the Royal.

We enjoyed our stay at Royal Century. It is a big modern establishment about 20 minutes from Pu Dong Airport. Close to Disney with a shuttle bus service. Staff are a bit stand-offish and don't give you the feel of a five star hotel. There's no greeting or smile from the reception desk. There's no welcoming five star effort from the staff. Rooms are a decent size and very clean. Slippers and toiletries are all provided as you would expect. Hotel is well looked after.

It is always disappointing when your first timpressions are that no one can see you, or is interested in you. From the concierge who seemed to think that talking to the driver was more important than helping passengers (we struggled in with three bags while he stood around looking the other way). The check people would not look up from their screens and greet us in the lobby which is the minimum one expects at a hotel like this. We were not shown to our rooms, or even shown to the lifts which were not easy to find. For some reason the staff member could not get my visa card to work. It operated fine on many occasions both before and after the hotel. This is the first time it has ever been rejected. We wanted a swim and after locating it with difficulty two levels underground off a door in the carpark we were given charmless shouted instructions, made to wear sandal about 5 sizes smaller than my feet and although there were plenty of staff standing around, no one made any attempt to guide us or show us how the locker system worked. There were four people in the pool (including us) so they were certainly not busy. my wife is a smoker. All smoking is outside, but there was no place anywhere to sit down outside. Where was the outdoor furniture. Although the hotel features a free shuttle service to Pudong it had to be organised on an individual basis. there was no regular and easy service. After organising a time i was informed that the driver had to go home for personal reasons and we needed to leave earlier. It is a beautiful hotel but the management and staff training is very poor.
