We enjoyed our stay, the room was very spacious and we were located on the 27 floor over looking the bund. The night views were wonderful. The hotel is located in walking distance of the metro and about a 40-minute walk to the bund. The staff are very friendly and pleasant, the concierge service was excellent always had time to chat and talk and helpful. Breakfast ,buffet was plenty of choice to choose from but could have been a little hotter. We did eat a couple of times in the bar area, just basic snack meals. The hotel was clean, and we did not really find any fault at all. Towels were changed every day, and the bedding alternative days.

We had a very good stay at Sofitel Shanghai North Bund and overall found it to be a great hotel. The property feels stylish and comfortable, and the staff were lovely throughout our stay. They were polite, helpful and made us feel very welcome. The location is convenient in the sense that it is fairly close to most places we wanted to go, but it is not really somewhere you can walk easily to everything from. In practice, we found ourselves taking a taxi or Didi most of the time, so that is worth knowing if you are hoping for a very walkable base. The hotel itself was very good, although I do think the rooms could have been a bit cleaner at times. It was not a major issue. We also had to request for extra towels daily which was a bit annoying as they kept taking away our extra towels and would only give us 2 per day. Overall though, this is a very good hotel with lovely staff, and we would happily stay again.

“Good, but not 5 stars”

Lovely hotel- location is a little remote and the club must be closed because the club lounge is actually the public foyer area and there’s no food or privacy to speak of. Room is a good size and light with floor to ceiling windows which lets a lot of light be.

Beautiful hotel, particularly the lobby, with a classy luxury charm. Room is a good size and comfortable, clean and well maintained. Bed is firm, pillow was also comfy. Service is excellent, especially the bellboys who were very helpful with the luggage from alighting and bringing it up all the way to the room and even lifting my heaviest one onto the rack. Front Desk was also very accommodating to my requests for a room near the lifts and an extended late check out till 2pm. The water pressure in the shower is a little weak. Location is probably their biggest flaw. The nearest metro station (Line 10) is 11 mins walk away.
