My husband and I stayed at The St. Regis on the Bund for one night as part of our stopover on the way back from Fiji. The hotel is located 45 minutes from the airport, and we arrived at 1am. Given the late hour, there were no other guests checking in and the process was efficient. Despite arriving visibly tired after a long journey, we were not offered any refreshments, which would have been a nice touch. Our Suite Night Award cleared into a Metropolitan Suite, and it was one of the best suite upgrades we have ever received. The suite was superb, with a beautifully designed office and living area, a spacious bedroom, and a large master bathroom. Both, the living room and the bedroom offered panoramic views over the Bund and Huangpu River. We had breakfast included in our rate. The breakfast selection and service were exceptional. When I approached the egg station, the chef kindly offered to walk me through the extensive buffet and introduce some of the traditional dishes. From crab omelettes and Shanghai dim sum to local fruit and freshly prepared noodles, the variety was great and quality high. It was one of those hotel breakfasts that stays with you as a memory. The hotel location is very convenient. The hotel is circa a 15 minute walk from the Bund and approximately 10 minutes from Yu Garden, making it easy to explore some of Shanghai’s most iconic sights on foot. After sightseeing, we finished our stay with drinks at the rooftop bar. The drinks selection was excellent, and we enjoyed Ferrari sparkling wine alongside a selection of nibbles while taking in the views. It was the perfect way to end our short stay in Shanghai. The only downside was the hotel WiFi, which was not compatible with many Western apps. Emails, WhatsApp and social media applications did not work without using a VPN, which was inconvenient. Overall, this was an exceptional stay. The combination of the suite upgrade, great breakfast, excellent location and beautiful views made it one of the highlights of our trip. We would highly recommend The St. Regis to other travellers visiting the city.

Stayed for 4 nights at this St Regis on the Bund that is located off a quiet, tree-lined street. Arrival was met promptly by door staff but the check-in was a little labored; it took a while to locate my reservations as I had booked for early arrival. The lobby is expansive and appealing – as may be expected of this chain. The staff throughout were excellent – they worked hard to identify and address you by your name, which is a nice touch. Assigned room was wonderful (had view of the river) – it was of good size and beautifully adorned with nice and functional furnishings. Bed was extremely comfortable, climate control was highly responsive (17 F), lighting was good (but took some figuring to turn all of them on), bathroom was well laid out, and shower provided good water pressure. Cleaning staff provided immaculate service – they provided turn down service. I also used the laundry service that was returned promptly. Breakfast at the Brasserie provide an amazing selection of foods that were prepared with care and that tasted great. Also partook a dinner at the Spago – the food was also excellent - as were the views of the city. At both venues, the service provided by the staff was incredible; extremely service-oriented and efficient. This is a first-rate establishment and would choose to revisit at the next opportunity.

First time at the StR on the Bund. Have been to SH for work many times but this time traveling with family and decided to stay at this hotel. Arrived from Hongqiao airport through SH traffic. The hotel is on the smaller size but still grand in terms of luxury and art deco style rooms. Valet team helped with our luggage and led us to check-in. I appreciated that the hotel has chairs for us to sit during check-in. As a Titanium member, received a welcome gift and free breakfast. Used a SNA to get an upgrade to a panoramic bund view room. The room itself was large and well decorated. Plenty of plugs by the bed for electronics. Bed was very comfortable and AC worked great. Views were fantastic. Breakfast was a buffet and was excellent with many Chinese and western choices. Delicious fruit options. Very pleased with the service. Pool was being renovated during our trip so did not use. Location wise the hotel is close to Yu Gardens and probably a 10+ min walk to the Yu Gardens metro stop. Didi was very easy to use in SH and affordable so we mostly took cars. Otherwise the walk along the bund is right outside the hotel so was nice to see the lights of Pudong in the evening. Check out was fine, folio was accurate. Although this hotel was expensive for China standards, it was luxurious and well worth it for the room and service. Enjoyed our stay at the StR on the Bund and would stay here again.

“Excellent upscale hotel with wonderful service”

This is a wonderful upscale hotel with excellent rooms, excellent service, and a fabulous breakfast buffet. And it is very well situated for enjoying the Bund and river views.
