I had the opportunity to stay in this hotel for two and half weeks in July and it was a very great experience. The staff even though they have very few people that can speak English they make an effort to try to help you. Even though this hotel is not part of any major hotel brand it has the service and quality of any major hotel. I had the opportunity to meet Mr. Michael Huang, Director of Sales and Marketing for the Huaxi Angel Hotel and was very impressed with the attention to details and service. One day during my stay I met him in the lobby and since he spoke English very well, I told him about an issue with my room bathroom door. I told him it was minor and that they could fix it after I checked out. But he insisted to go take a look and from a simple conversation it turned into bringing three engineers to fix the door and got it working perfectly in just a few minutes. We had a nice conversation about tourism and hospitality and about the hotel which was particularly interesting for me since I am also in this industry field. The room I had was very comfortable and spacious enough. This was my home for 19 days, so it was important to feel good in the room. The room was cleaned every day and serviced by house keeping including turn down service every night. The room also had its own WiFi as well as a refrigerator which was convenient to have snacks and cold drinks. The WiFi was important to maintain communication with my family back home. The room had nice amenities such as bathroom products as well as bathrobe, room safe, sandals, and weight scale. The hotel also provided free umbrella service for rainy days (very important in Chengdu) and also rented bicycles for free too. There is a restaurant in the hotel that served breakfast, lunch and dinner. Our rate included free breakfast, which had food options familiar to the Westerners. The location of the hotel is also close to major shopping attractions as well as the Chengdu Metro and withing close driving distance to other city attractions.

I just got back from a 2-week stay at this hotel while studying abroad. I must say I was very impressed with the overall quality of the hotel and the staff. Although the English isn't the best with the staff (but hey, you're in THEIR country) everything else was great and everyone was friendly. Housekeeping was extremely nice and go out of their way to help you even despite the language barrier. The rooms were spacious and the beds are beyond comfortable. I would highly recommend this hotel and will most certainly be back.

I stayed in the Angel hotel for 1 night recently while in Chengdu for business meetings. My colleagues selected the hotel as it was a short walk from where our meetings were. The hotel is a standard business hotel, but the room was very comfortable. Check in and check out were both fairly quick, and a Chinese breakfast was included in the room rate. There are a good range of restaurants within a short walk of the hotel, and many convenience stores. Almost no English is spoken here. In a welcome change from many Chinese local hotels, this hotel had a dedicated non-smoking floor, and the rooms did not smell of smoke (on that floor). Very fast wi-fi is featured in the rooms, free of charge. I limited number of toiletries are available in the room, along with toothbrushes (but no razors). This is an economical hotel in a good location, I found it comfortable and would happily stay here again when next in the area. The hotel accepts western credit cards (Visa / MasterCard etc) with no problems. I recommend this hotel.

Stayed here during a conference (held on the 12th floor, very good facilities for a meeting), the staff were helpful and friendly. The room was well appointed, had everything working and was sufficiently quiet that could open the window if I wanted to (I did). The only drawback was a disappointing breakfast where firstly it's a mistake to turn up any time later than about 745 most the food will have gone and secondly if you are a Westerner then you are going to have problems (some fried eggs with a bit of fried rice some Chinese greens is about it…). Having said that, there was fuel to be had to start the day and that is enough for me!
