Located across from Chengdudong Railway Station gives it a plus for travellers who needs to be at the station for an early train connection. Further Rayfont is connected to the train station via a walkway making it convenient. Can be a little confusing looking for Rayfont as it shates the same properry with a few other hotels. Front desk staff were friendly and we managed to chexk-in early and quickly. Room was big, quiet and comfy but very dim even with all lights on. The other issue we had was the sliding toilet door could not shut close entirely no matter how hard we pushed leaving a gap. There are many eateries across from the hotel under the residential blocks.

“Nice Hotel near Chengdu East Railway Station”

I stayed only one night at this hotel and booked this hotel for its location which is very close to Chengdu East Railway Station. I also got very cheap deal at 97 CNY on booking,com for a single room. It was my first day in China and I got out of station looking for this hotel. I could not see this hotel from station and walked a lot but could not find it. I asked locals for this hotel, but almost nobody speaks or understands English in China and were not able to help. I did not had the address written in Chinese which was the biggest problem. Though the hotel is very near to station but Chengdu station is quite big and you have to get out of the East Square exit to reach this hotel. From there it is a 5 minutes walk.This hotel is part of Longemont hotel which you would see when just step out of the East Square exit. Rayfont is at the backside of Longemont hotel in the same complex. As is very common in China, hotel staff did not speak much English but was eager to help with whatever they English they could speak. They charged a deposit of 200 CNY on card which was returned on check-out. I had a single room which was though small but had almost every basic amenity and a good view. It had a private bathroom, TV, dental kit, soap, toiletries, water bottles, free wifi etc. This hotel also had a Chinese restaurant but my deal did not include breakfast. Overall I am satisfied as I got a very good deal very near to Chengdu East station, and staff even with their limited English was eager to help. If you are coming by Metro remember to get out of East Square exist otherwise it will be a long walk.

“Great location”

Property is located next to North railway station which makes it easy if you want to travel out to Leshan or Emeishan. Room is well maintained and clean. Check-in/out was fast. Expect to pay CNY5 per pax if you need them to keep your luggage for the day.

The hotel can be a little hard to find as it’s part of a large group of hotels (the Longmont and Yes) and the Chengdu railway is quite large (if that’s how you arrived). Best thing to remember is to just follow the signs to East Square and you’ll be on the right track! The front desk staff were great at trying to communicate with us despite our obvious language barriers which we really appreciated. The room had complimentary water (replenished each day), in-room tea and coffee sachets (not replenished throughout our stay), shampoo & conditioner, TV (not that we used it) but no in-room fridge to keep drinks cold. The room was really nice, quite spacious with a separate bathroom and toilet (although still no real privacy between the two). The bed was also quite comfortable but the shower pressure wasn’t great and the toilet smelt a little off for some reason on the first day we arrived. We stayed on the 8th floor, but encountered a few things go be aware of. Firstly the noise from the traffic is clear and audible all night, it was pretty difficult to sleep and the window doesn’t close all the way (maybe some double-glazing needed too. Also, the wi-fi is terrible, we gave up trying to use it, nothing would ever load. Finally, being on the 8th floor meant accessing lifts at peak times is impossible, especially when others are trying to check-out, we waited 15 minutes for a lift (each one of the six completely full by the time they reached our level) before we gave up and tried the stairs which took us to the lobby of one of the other hotels, very confusing! Breakfast was quite broad (58 yuan pp if it’s not included). It had a selection of dumplings, vegetables, rice, sausages, bacon, porridge and congee as well as basic toast and cereal, with fruit and some limited yoghurt availability. There is also a station where the chef makes eggs your way or noodles your way from a wide selection, right next to the pastries (donuts, egg tarts, pastries, buns). Overall we enjoyed our stay here but probably wouldn’t stay again due to the lift, wifi and noise experienced.
