This quaint little boutique hotel lies right within the centre of Shangri-La Old Town. Rooms are spacious and well-equipped with all necessary amenities. Should you experience altitude sickness, an oxygen machine is provided in the room for your nighttime comfort, which you can pay for via your Chinese social media app. If you want snacks, there is a convenience store right across from the hotel entrance. Breakfast is a smaller, wholesome affair. If you do not want to eat local steamed sweet potatoes, corn and sponge bread, they do offer Western-style pancakes! Tips: - For a fantastic view of the Turtle Mountain Temple, climb the stairs to the first floor to snap a great shot! - Head to Moonlight Square in the evening to join the vibrant traditional Tibetan dances or just to soak in the lively atmosphere.

We stayed 2 nights in this tasteful boutiquehotel in the centre of ancient Shangri La. The rooms are beautiful and comfortable and the entire hotel has a stylish but traditional decoration. The view from the courtyard is great and do not miss the vine bar terrasse at nigh because there you see the Guishan temple illuminated and directly in front of you. It is marvellous. The breakfast is nice with a good coffee and the entire staff is very friendly, helpful and will make you feel home.

“We loved this place”

We had a remarkable stay in this hotel whre everything was close to perfection. We highly recommend for your stay in Shrangrila. it is right in the center while very quiet. the rooms were very nicely decorated and the food was great.

Pros: - Good location inside the old town - Good service especially from the young man called Sun - Unique Tibetan design at the lobby Cons: - We stayed at 3rd floor have to climb 5 short flights of staircases every time in and out of hotel. No fun climbing staircases while having high altitude sickness - the lock for room door is a joke. Unique but super inconvenient - room has no views - noisy room days and nights. Can hear people talking from the courtyard, chopping sounds, guests walking or dragging luggage sound, construction noise from next door, noise form the busy Dukezong old town…. - bed was too hard, pillow was too soft. Didn’t sleep well for 3 nights at the hotel - very expensive compared to the other three hotels which we have stayed in Yunnan for our 10 days trip- Sofitel Kunming, Hilton Dali, banyan tree Lijiang all cheaper than Arro Khampa with much better values and comfort levels. - not suitable for old people, family with kids- because of the staircase and worse part of all is their glass door for the bathroom. I am a mother with my ten years old son. It’s extremely inconvenient for me to take a shower when my son is around. Had to do a make shift door curtains using the hotel towels when I showered. - room phone intercom not working/ TV remote not working. - breakfast could be better for that kind of price charged Overall, I like their service. But dislike the impractical design of the hotel room.
