Chinese hotels can be somewhat deceptive .The front lobby is enormous and plush giving an impression of five star .....None are the star they claim to be but as long as they are clean then I don't worry about much else .This hotel was fair ,I didn't expect an amazing breakfast so I wasn't disappointed !!! One thing I did like about this place was the location .

“Not a bad hotel”

Fairly good hotel about 30 minutes walk or 10 rmb taxi from the old town. Rooms nice and so is the bathroom. Beds are a tad hard, but that's the norm in this part of the country. Breakfast fine or you can choose to go Chinese.

“It was just a room in a good location.”

We stayed at this hotel as part of our Wendy Wu - Yunnnan & Sichuan trip. As with most hotels in China, the bed was very hard making sleep difficult for people with hip problems. Also, could not cool the room below 21 degrees C where as public areas was cooled! Very quiet room with excellent ligh… more

We stayed at this hotel as part of our Wendy Wu - Yunnnan & Sichuan trip. As with most hotels in China, the bed was very hard making sleep difficult for people with hip problems. Also, could not cool the room below 21 degrees C where as public areas was cooled! Very quiet room with excellent lighting, working refrigerator, excellent sized bathroom and shelf. The room book said foreign exchange services available at the cashiers desk, however, when I tried to change some cash, the answer was NO. There are plenty of ATMs near by. Breakfast was very chinese but with plenty to choose from. Wi-fi was good for emails but anything else was useless so I ended up using my mobile data to access facebook and internet searching.

Utterly inefficient air-conditioning and rather poor breakfast detracted from an otherwise good stay here. The pros: Firstly, good location. A convenient 12-13 yuan taxi drive from the old city, about a fifteen minute walk. (we walked while going, and took a taxi back, late in the evening on our return, when we were exhausted !!). If you want to go by taxi both ways, the front desk will organise it for you. Secondly, a big and really well-furnished room. Thirdly, a small point, but one that every hotel should emulate: we were all given a small card with directions in English and Chinese, to show taxi drivers, to go to various locations in and around town. Fourthly, something I need not really mention, but I will: as in ALL our hotels in China, superb staff. Friendly, cheerful, helpful, and most welcoming. Now, sadly the cons: First, the air-conditioning. Despite our best efforts, we could not make it work. As a result our three nights here were somewhat unpleasant. Secondly, the breakfast was rather poor. The menu did not feature even fried eggs, let alone omelettes, or scrambled eggs... So much so, our poor tour guide had to specially organise fried eggs for each of us in the morning. Even water was scarce at breakfast, just some lousy fruit juice. The coffee was simply awful. Despite these irritations, I would probably stay here if I visited Lijiang again, because it is so very conveniently located! Our tour operator Wendy Wu chose this hotel. We paid an all-inclusive fee, but on leaving I asked the front desk the room rate, and was pleasantly surprised to find how cheap it was!
