Our hired driver alighted us at a building that looked like an office building. True enough, the block comprised Shama Heda’s apartments as well as some offices. We have to take our luggage to the actual lift that was meant for Shama. Others would not get you to the 20th floor (if I’m not wrong - lobby & breakfast area / gym of Shama Heda). Please look for the signage at the lift lobby. The security guard on the ground floor didn’t understand English so it is better to show your hotel confirmation documents. There are 2 convenient shops selling essentials likes instant noodles, snacks, detergents & etc. One is Lawson’s (near the Double-Tree Hotel) & the other small one (which might be less costly) is under Shama - behind the lift lobby). Most of the patrons were office workers. The executives at the front desk spoke clear, concise English! The male executive was very pleasantly cheerful & welcoming. Check-in was superbly quick. Then we proceed to take the lift up to our unit. It was a corner unit. One executive stood at the lift to usher us, pressed the buttons for us. He brought us to our unit. Another pleasant surprise! The 2-bedroom apartment was so huge! The only issue was all 4 of us had to take turn to use the bathroom. There is only 1 bathroom/toilet. It has a long bath tub. Kitchenette was fully equipped! We even cooked yummy instant noodles here, for supper, in the cold weather:)). The washing machine cum dryer came in handy during the winter. After one wash, our machine door could not be opened. Help was rendered...from internal staff to external servicemen. Thanks for looking into the issue & resolving it. Lots of cabinet space. The twin beds in the smaller room has a back door out to the corridor. The room doesn’t come with windows. The master room is huge. Both the living & the master rooms have windows that are overlooking the office towers opposite. We usually kept our curtains closed in the evening. Breakfast was average, very simple home cooked food. The main dish was the fried noodles or rice which they swapped daily. The staff at the breakfast area were very friendly, especially the lady executive. She recommended us to try their freshly made wanton (dumplings) soup...freshly harvested yam (steamed) which we did. They were really good. We walked over to the opposite streets...there are many shops selling clothes for adults & children. There are so many eateries. Further to the right, you could see the Paradise Walk which is a self-sufficient mall. Pretty nice stuffs you could find here...there is a supermarket, there are lots of restaurants & outlets selling nice clothing! So modern! Bakery like Breadtalk is there too. We particularly liked the noodle shop <HeFu Noodles - 和> . Really good noodle texture. Prompt service. Really good dumplings! We spent 3 nights at the apartment, we wished we could stay longer. We really would like to be back again if we visit Hangzhou the next time as we have not seen enough of Hangzhou yet:))
