A bit old hotel, with comfortable rooms, near by the section 1 of the big Yiwu market. Good Cantonese restaurant where a present manager lady speak good English. The plus is A-Seven, is the guy that can solve anything you need! Great asset at this Marriott.

Overall a good property with very convenient location next to the market hub. Good benefits for Bonvoy Elite members including suite upgrade. Staff are very hospitable generally. Executive lounge was good but the food and drinks spread could be improved a bit.

I know this hotel well, and this is exactly why I was disappointed. I am a long-stay business traveler and a Marriott Ambassador member. I stay in hotels very often, and usually I liked this hotel because I know the people and I was always treated well. This time, something changed, and honestly I did not like what I saw. When I checked in, there was no room upgrade available at that moment. That was not the problem. The front desk employee told me clearly that the next day, if the guest checked out, one Executive Suite would be available, and if not, another suite the day after. He even gave me the numbers of the two suites I could move to. Based on this, I did not unpack properly because I was waiting to move. I am a very busy person, and for me time is important. I do not like to organize my stay around a promise and then discover it meant nothing. The next morning I went personally to the front office to check. Then suddenly the whole story changed. I was told, basically, why should they give me the suite while they can wait for another guest who will pay full price for it. This is what really disappointed me. If there is no upgrade, say from the beginning there is no upgrade. No problem. But do not give me clear expectation, ask me to wait, and then change the position because maybe somebody else will pay more money. After that, they took my number and told me they would call me. No call. No follow-up. No apology. Nothing. For me, this is not only about a suite. It is about trust, fairness, respect, and the mentality behind the service. One person at the front desk can damage the image of the whole hotel. I travel all the time, and I understand business very well. Sometimes it is not the big mistake that pushes a guest away. It is the small situation that shows the real attitude. This experience honestly made me think that even if another hotel or another chain may not treat me better, at least they may treat me fairly like any other guest. Very disappointing experience from the front office.
