Our 2 bedroom villa was roomy and really well equipped for self catering. Beds were huge and rooms clean. Small pool to cool down plus outside shower. Our 2 bedroom villa was roomy and really well equipped for self catering. Beds were huge and rooms clean. Small pool to cool down plus outside shower. Limited access to beach here but not far to more sheltered beaches as needed this time of year. Great restaurant nearby (Kikau hut) plus bottle shop n other stores in walking distance. The lovely Jayne in the office was really helpful with local knowledge and communication prior to our booking was quick.

“An absolute gem of a property”

The Cooks Oasis was absolutely spot on for us (Family of 4no. Mum, Dad and two Daughters 15 and 10), we honestly couldn't say a bad thing about it. The Cooks Oasis was absolutely spot on for us (Family of 4no. Mum, Dad and two Daughters 15 and 10), we honestly couldn't say a bad thing about it. The photos are accurate, the rooms are spacious and comfortable and the beach is just a short walk away. The room and the kitchen had everything we needed including filtered water and the air conditioning in the room was just fantastic to cool the room down in the evening. The staff were awesome, so friendly and helpful and easy to contact if we needed anything. Thanks so much for a wonderful holiday,

“Good value for money, great location.”

Cooks Oasis was great for our family of four adults. We had Villa 8 which was upstairs with two large bedrooms, good sized living, kitchen and bathroom and a return verandah. Cooks Oasis was great for our family of four adults. We had Villa 8 which was upstairs with two large bedrooms, good sized living, kitchen and bathroom and a return verandah. It was lovely being elevated and the covered verandah made for even more space. It was great to have a BBQ on site and free use of laundry facilities. We loved being able to walk down to the beach so easily. The beach is stunning and often there was no one else on it. Very easy stroll down the beach to Black Rock. We did hire a car and the on-site parking was appreciated. Overall we thought Cooks Oasis was great value for money and suited our family really well.

A lovely property with thoughtful touches, but our stay was ultimately overshadowed by a serious breach of trust and several service issues. Cook’s Oasis is a lovely little haven away from the crowds. We appreciated the excellent location, complimentary snorkelling gear, the free washing machine, and the thoughtful birthday surprise arranged for my husband on our first night. Unfortunately, one of our rooms had a strong fishy smell on arrival, the toilet seat broke during our stay, and housekeeping missed servicing our room one day, requiring us to request fresh towels and have the room cleaned. Most significantly, my daughter’s Birkenstocks and my other daughter’s $50 went missing from our room. We reported this immediately. After my husband advised he intended to file a police report, the shoes were returned with the explanation that they had been “found.” It was only after I requested that our room no longer be serviced because I no longer trusted the staff that management reviewed the security footage, confirmed what had occurred, and took action. Management dismissed the cleaner, recovered the shoes, reimbursed the $50, and apologised. We appreciate that they ultimately took decisive action. However, we would have appreciated our concerns being taken seriously from the outset and the security footage being reviewed as soon as we first reported the issue. While we recognise this is not representative of every stay, it had a significant impact on our family’s holiday.
