We had a great time staying at Avana Waterfront Apts & would recommend it for sure. We spent a week on the west coast when we first arrived then a week at Aitutaki & then here for our last week. Muri lagoon is a beautiful place to swim, snorkel & if you are lucky like we were, swim with a feeding turtle. We hired a car to get around or you can catch a bus from the end of the road, or walk the 1.3km into the restaurant cafe area in Muri. The studio units are spacious & well appointed with everything you need. I’d definitely stay here again.

Simple but large and very comfortable and super quiet apartment on the edge of Muri Lagoon (swimmable from the jetty when the current is not strong and there is a swimming pool and kayaks). We have stayed at those apartments 8 times in the last 25 years. We love the feel of the place and we hope they will not change: they are not luxurious but they are very clean, bright and very well appointed with a great vibe. Desiree the insite manager is fantastic and keep the place in great shape and make sure the guests have what they need. We stayed 9 nights but could have stayed much longer. We will be back of course and we hope it will stay the same!

We stayed here as a couple for nine days and nights in August 2024 and loved it. It is about 20 minutes walk in to Muri where there are plenty of places to eat and drink. You may want to have your own transport if you stay here, although the bus stop is only five minutes walk and buses every half hour. We had bicycles for the entire time and rode everywhere on the island, the only downside being that we needed to be off the road before dark, around 1815 in August. Desiree was a fabulous host and we would definitely stay here again on a return visit.. Andrew and Alice Australia

We stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment and although there was plenty of room it was dated and tired looking and could do with some clean up noting the following: * Kitchen cupboards old and had a very musty smell * Outdoor seating had ripped canvas * Outdoor rubber mat disintegrating * Shower head kept falling out of the holder so a couple of times we had water everywhere in the bathroom * Downstairs toilet seat loose * Clothes drying rack provided however this was rusty so didn't fancy using this * Wi-Fi initially very spotty however this was fixed in a timely manner It's a twenty minute walk into Muri so would recommend you hire a car or scooter so you have transport. Also note rooms are only serviced once every three days. On a positive note it has a great location overlooking lagoon with private jetty and the Manager Desiree was always very helpful.
