Nice hotel but lots of children. Pool area quite small for amount of people and not enough sun beds so went to the beach instead of using pool. Location is very good, close to beach, restaurants and harbour. Nice walks rould the coastal path. Rooms are quite spacious with a small fridge, not other facilities and the hairdryer was rubbish. Shower above the bath very high so not good for short legs to climb in and out. Staff ok but not all staff friendly.

The hotel is quite dated, not in a "needs complete renovation"-way, but it is quite old-timey and getting worn. The overall structure is good with a lot of potential. The staff were great; friendly, service-minded and timely, and really the best part of the stay. The wellness area is nice, and could be great with the right touches. Someone clearly had a vision here some decades ago, and it is still comfortable and the kids loved it. Unfortunately the staff did not follow up on the rules set for the area, which leads to a lot of "towel-reservations" of sunbeds in the morning. The breakfast is nice enough, but the dinner buffet is quite disappointing, a new low was reached with fish-fingers and tater tots. It is good to cater to the young, but the adults were not satisfied. We had a nice stay, and overall it was ok value for money, with the staff really being the best part of the stay. Not the hotel's fault, but the bar right across the street makes for a lot of noise in the early night for the rooms facing the road. I believe that the Hotel Horizont has great potential, and still gives families a nice stay at the coast of Croatia, but top notch it is not.

“In desperate need of updating”

Horizont is currently undergoing significant changes. After selling its sister hotel Grand Slavia it is hoped that a substantial investment will be made to update Horizont. Horizont is currently undergoing significant changes. After selling its sister hotel Grand Slavia it is hoped that a substantial investment will be made to update Horizont. A lot of the team of staff from Grand Slavia have left and now work at Horizont which is a positive step as they are excellent in customer service, knowledge and languages. The hotel itself is still significantly outdated and as such its clientele are older. It is quite sad to see a hotel which holds such a prominent position in Baška Voda - beach front, close to all shops, bars, restaurants snd cafes - left in the late 80’s. It has never changed or updated its rooms since opening therefore no wonder guests comment it feels dated. Dark brown furnishings fill the hotel and rooms. The once beautiful dining area / restaurant now a jaded buffet room with standard lukewarm buffet foods. Long gone are the days of the Thursday gala dinners, live music and traditional dance shows. The spa downstairs has huge potential however, facilities are hit and miss for opening. Treatments are available however possibly due to lack of guests there is not always someone available to facilitate this. There are vast areas which are unused and have so much potential however, given the large choice of accommodation in Baška Voda it is clear that unless Horizont overhauls its entire facilities and guest rooms its majority clientele will continue to be elderly and minimal. Positives are that improvements are being made, a new bar menu is available during the day with fresh wraps, sandwiches etc. The pools are clean and dumbed available for guests. The staff are attentive and friendly and the position is stunning. A backdrop of the beautiful Biokovo mountains and abundant pine trees surrounding the perimeter. The beach a stones throw down the steps or through the car park and along the path. The beautiful clear waters of the Adriatic and the clean pebble beach run along the whole front of Baška Boda and neighbouring Baško Poljie.

The hotel is situated in a beautiful area over looking beaches and surrounded by mountains, The resort is well equipped with some gorgeous restaurants near by the sun rise and sunsets were stunning and some wonderful walks The hotel itself is clean and well maintained staff are extremely polite however some of the facilities are dated , rooms need a reset and redecoration and need to include tea and coffee. The gym has outdated and odd equipment with pieces broken The spa was beautiful but only limited access no treatments available in April but the pools were lovely , The food was adequate but supposedly hot food served at breakfast was cold and this was disappointing.. A very relaxing stay with some improvements needed
