Stayed at Villa Capitano for 4 nights at the start of our holiday. We were in the 1 bedroom apartment on the ground floor. It is very tastefully decorated and extremely well equipped. The host really has thought of everything! There were a few useful groceries in the fridge for us on arrival which is a really lovely idea. Although we didn’t have as good a view as the higher apartments we loved having our own terrace with easy access to the pool (ideal for our children aged 13and 10). The view from the terrace and pool was lovely. It is up a very steep hill and stairs from the Mlini promenade. Took us about 10 mins to walk down and 15 back up. We are pretty fit and did the walk twice a day but it wouldn’t be suitable for anyone with mobility problems or young children in a buggy. Other people we spoke to said they used taxis to get back and forth and that this was easy. Our children really enjoyed having the pool and we really liked Mlini. It is quite a small and relaxing place but there are more restaurants and bars in Srebreno which is only 5 min walk along the promenade. We really enjoyed our stay here and are thinking of returning for a few days next year.

“Fab apartments with amazing views”

Stayed at the gorgeous 3 bed apartment at villa Capitano in June for our pal's 50th. Beautiful place with the most stunning views. We felt very privileged waking to that view every morning. The apartment is really spacious with 3 fab bathrooms, 1 being en suite. I was lucky to get the large bedroom at the top of the stairs as the room was huge with a really comfortable king sized bed. It was also the only room where the air con worked properly and considering it was 30c every day, I was very happy. Ivana, the owner, and her husband tried to sort the air con in the downstairs bedroom as it was not cold but for some reason it didn't get any better. There is no aircon in the rafters bedroom upstairs but an aircon unit is provided. However this only moved the hot air around. There were also no instructions on how to use it, ie. Fill with water etc so my pals had to Google to work out ice packs etc. Ivana said that she should really get aircon in that room. There is also a skylight directly above the bed which should have a black out blind fitted as the sun and heat woke my pals really early most mornings. The roads are incredibly steep to reach the complex (Think roller coaster) but you do get used to it. There is also a lovely walk down to mlini (starting point up a ladder 😁) which is again initially challenging as lots of steps but we did it about 4 times and it was a delight because of the views. You can get water taxis from mlini to Cavtat and Dubrovnik for just over £6 which is a fab way to travel. I'd also recommend walking over to Subrano for more atmosphere than Mlini. And onto Kupari to see the sad hotel ruins and an amazing beach. We found Villa Capitano a very peaceful place to recharge the batteries but the busier places are easy to reach for when you want more of a buzz.

Whilst the apartment is well catered for it is surrounded by various levels of building work. Not exactly relaxing listening and watching cement mixers, tile cutters, drilling etc. Whilst I appreciate this work has to be done at some point I do feel an obligation should fall on the owners to inform… more

Whilst the apartment is well catered for it is surrounded by various levels of building work. Not exactly relaxing listening and watching cement mixers, tile cutters, drilling etc. Whilst I appreciate this work has to be done at some point I do feel an obligation should fall on the owners to inform potential clients that they may be disturbed by building works in the immediate vicinity either at booking or prior to arrival. The owner was most unhelpful and washed her hands if my genuine complaint. Sadly I had booked a week stay which I immediately regretted. And whilst the apartment provided good level of accomodation my level of enjoyment was significantly affect
