“Great location; dated hotel.”

The location is perfect; next to the Plitvicka Lakes but check your expectations at the door. The location is perfect; next to the Plitvicka Lakes but check your expectations at the door. The hotel is dated (built in the Yugoslavia communist period), with old bathroom features (high bathtub, old wall hairdryer). No kleenex in the room. But the dinner buffet was surprisingly good. Beds were comfortable enough. They appear to be doing some outside remodeling.

“Location, location, location”

The location of Jezero Hotel is unbeatable. One of the park entrances is literally down the hill behind the hotel and across the road. The location of Jezero Hotel is unbeatable. One of the park entrances is literally down the hill behind the hotel and across the road. The front desk and restaurant staff were all professional and courteous. The food was adequate. We had the breakfast buffet as part of our room rate, but no other meals. As we didn't have a car, we ate lunch in Plitvice Lakes National Park and ordered dinner at the hotel. The room was also just adequate. My only real complaint is that it was quite stuffy, and we needed to keep both our door to the hallway and our sliding glass doors to the balcony open to get a cross breeze. This was problematic because we were directly over the patio, where people gathered to smoke at all hours of the day and night. I would stay there again, but I would request not to be above the patio.

I booked this hotel for the location and it came with a deal - park tickets inclded and discounts on the spa etc. This is a low cost hotel, but it is out of season, I imagine it is a lot more expensive in the summer. There is a big carpark, but it was dark and rainy when I arrived and it really was not obvious how to get in, you had to squeeze through bollards. The hotel is really dated, my bathroom smelt musty and a bit "sewage-y", but when i covered the drain up on the floor with a towel, that helped a little. There was not kettle or drink making facilities in the room but you obviously can buy hot drinks from the bar. Breakfast was quite basic and without a lot of choice, it seemed that once things had run out, that was it. I booked a thai massage at the salon and that was very very good. I tried to use the spa pool/sauna etc which was not particularly straightforward as no one could find anyone who worked there, the place was deserted !! The overall stay was good and I would recommend it, but it is a gate 2 and you will probably want to drive to gate 1 !
