“All good, but..”

All good, save for smudges on one cup and very slow housekeeping service in the afternoon despite several calls (had to settle the issue myself). Other than that, a very convenient quality hotel. The breakfast is truly excellent.

For about 6 hours between flights I selected this hotel because of its closeness to the airport, just a walk of less than 5 minutes. The only receptionist on arrival after 10pm was chatting with a woman, who was holding a drink in her glass, so after a while I interrupted them for my check-in. The receptionist obliged and then it took her still quite a while to hand over my room key. The room and bathroom were fine and I had a nice view towards Terminal 1. After a Pislner Urquell and a snack at their bar-restaurant on the second floor I had a good, short sleep until 4am. Thus I can't say anything about breakfast. All in all the price was still rather high for what I got.

Hey, management, keep an eye on your youngsters manning the desk at late hours. I had a young female whippersnapper laughing and telling me “we don’t do it here” when trying to discuss some of the benefits of my Platinum status. Not a good look. I was happy to find out the high standard of cleanliness hasn’t changed a bit, the guest room was spotless as always. Also, the same goes for the breakfast area, where the workers were making sure there isn’t a speck of crumb lying in the buffet area, and keeping the wide selections 100% stocked. First class service. In your room you have to turn on your refrigerator, so if you need to keep your medication refrigerated, ask the hotel beforehand. Mine took the whole night to start cooling.

Overall, my stay at this hotel was average. The rooms were recently renovated, modern, and very clean, which was definitely one of the highlights. The hotel was also quiet, making it easy to relax and get a good night’s sleep. The staff were generally friendly, welcoming, and willing to help. However, some members of the team seemed to have limited English proficiency, which occasionally made communication a bit difficult. One of the biggest drawbacks was the air conditioning. Both in the guest rooms and in the common areas, it was not working effectively, and the hotel often felt uncomfortably warm, especially during the day. The breakfast was disappointing. The selection was quite limited and lacked variety, making it feel more average than what I would expect from a Marriott property. The fitness center was another weak point. It was poorly equipped, not well maintained, and fell far below the standard expected from an international hotel brand. The restaurant was very small and offered only a limited menu with few food options. The bar had a similar issue, with restricted seating and a modest selection of drinks. While the renovated rooms, cleanliness, and friendly staff were positive aspects of the stay, the inadequate air conditioning, underwhelming breakfast, poor gym facilities, and limited dining options significantly impacted the overall experience. I would rate this hotel 3 out of 5 stars.
