Outstanding Stay – Exceptionally Staffed by Maxim! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ ​I had a fantastic experience at the Don Giovanni Hotel Prague! The hotel itself is beautiful, comfortable, and well-appointed, making it a great base for exploring Prague. ​What truly elevated my stay from good to extraordinary, however, was the incredible service at the reception desk—specifically from Maxim. ​During my stay, I ran into a few unexpected issues, but Maxim handled them with absolute professionalism, calm, and efficiency. Before I even had time to worry, he had everything completely sorted out in a matter of minutes. His warm attitude, problem-solving skills, and genuine dedication to guest satisfaction are rare to find. ​Maxim is a true credit to the Don Giovanni team. Thank you, Maxim, for turning what could have been a stressful moment into a seamless experience! I will definitely be returning.

Nice hotel with great transport connections We stayed at Don Giovanni Hotel as a family of four (2 adults and 2 children) and overall had a pleasant stay. The hotel is beautiful, clean, and welcoming. One of its biggest advantages is the location. It is very close to public transport, including the metro and trams, making it easy to explore Prague. Our room was spacious enough for the four of us, and the biggest highlight was that our children each had their own single bed. Having one double bed and two separate single beds made a huge difference, and our kids absolutely loved not having to share a bed. The only downside was the service. We found that several staff members spoke very limited English, which made communication difficult at times. We also felt that the level of service could have been better. We had dinner at the hotel’s buffet restaurant. Unfortunately, the service there was also disappointing. The staff seemed a bit confused and not very well organised. The food was good, but we expected a little more considering the hotel’s standard. The selection was decent, and we were lucky to arrive around 7:00 PM before it became much busier. Shortly afterwards, queues started to form and the restaurant became quite crowded. Overall, this is a good hotel with comfortable family rooms and an excellent location for sightseeing. While the service could certainly be improved, we still had a nice stay and would recommend it to families visiting Prague.

“A very good out- of-centre hotel.”

If you don’t want to be in the busy centre of Prague but with easy travelling distance then this is the perfect choice. The buses, trams and Metro are on the doorstep and it’s a quiet location. If you don’t want to be in the busy centre of Prague but with easy travelling distance then this is the perfect choice. The buses, trams and Metro are on the doorstep and it’s a quiet location. The hotel is a very pleasant, clean hotel with a good restaurant and a great breakfast. Very good value for money. Reception staff were generally good but it was very difficult to try and arrange a late room departure until I hit upon the right member of staff, a very pleasant young man who arranged it without any problem, so thank you and I’m sorry I have forgotten your name!

We arrived at the hotel at around 12:30 p.m., although check-in is only available from 3:00 p.m. As the hotel was very busy, all check-in and check-out desks were occupied. Fortunately, the waiting time was not too long. Unfortunately, the reception staff did not offer a particularly warm welcome. Communication was also difficult, as it was not possible to communicate properly in English, German, or Ukrainian. As a positive gesture, we were given access cards to the Executive Lounge, where we could comfortably wait until our room was ready. The hotel’s location is excellent. It offers outstanding connections to the Prague Metro, trams, and buses, making it easy to reach all major attractions. It is clearly one of the busiest hotels in Prague. Overall, the hotel is clean and well maintained, although signs of wear are visible in some areas. Some furniture shows its age, and there are stains on parts of the carpets. However, the housekeeping staff worked hard every day, and the hotel was kept clean throughout our stay. Our room was nicely designed, clean, and comfortable. Housekeeping cleaned the room daily, changed the towels regularly, and maintained a high standard of cleanliness. The beds were more than satisfactory for a hotel of this category. Unfortunately, our request for a room facing the Žižkov district was not accommodated. Instead, we received a room facing the street, which was quite noisy despite the windows being closed. Breakfast is undoubtedly one of the hotel’s highlights. The selection is exceptionally extensive and offers everything you could expect. There is a wide variety of hot and cold dishes, fresh fruit, pastries, cereals, and beverages. A pleasant touch is the live piano music every morning during breakfast. Guests should pay attention to the breakfast times, as the dining area is relatively small and can become very crowded during peak hours. Room numbers were checked every morning before entering the breakfast area. The Executive Lounge, including the rooftop terrace, is another major advantage. From 10:00 a.m. onwards, guests can enjoy a generous selection of chilled drinks, coffee, snacks, and ice cream. The library provides a quiet and relaxing atmosphere. One suggestion remains unchanged from our previous visit: there is still no designated place to leave used dishes, something we had already recommended before. In the evenings, the lounge is usually very busy. Unfortunately, the check-out experience was disappointing. As returning guests, we did not feel particularly valued. There was no friendly farewell, and the process consisted only of paying for the minibar and handing back the room key cards. During our previous stay, the service had been much warmer and more attentive. Overall: Hotel Giovanni remains an excellent choice thanks to its outstanding location, comfortable rooms, exceptional breakfast, and well-equipped Executive Lounge. However, the quality of service at reception, especially during check-in and check-out—has noticeably declined compared to our previous stay. While we still enjoyed our visit overall, we left feeling somewhat disappointed by the level of customer service this time.
