I would call Hotel Rott a 'traditional' hotel. Not luxurious but very comfortable, and in a near perfect location just a minute or two from the Old Town Square. The room decoration isn't exciting but our's was bright and airy with plenty of storage space and the all important tea and coffee! I should say too that the room and, it seems, the hotel in general, e.g. paintwork, cleanliness in public areas, were in excellent condition. We had a warm welcome and having arrived much earlier than check-in time, were invited to wait a few minutes, while it was established if we could have our room then or not. We could; hurrah! We were at the back of the hotel, so perhaps were fortunate that we didn't have noise from the Hard Rock or square outside. That said, earplugs are provided in the room, just in case I guess. Breakfast was super, catering surely for every appetite. The range of food hot and cold - all very fresh - was extraordinary and delicious. Staff were very efficient and pleasant. A nice touch... It was my husband's birthday while we were there and as a surprise a relative had asked for a bottle of fizz to be put in our room. Great. However, the hotel also put a small box of very good quality chocolates in the room, with a birthday greeting from the manager Jana Budinska and the hotel team. Ms Budinska won't remember this, why would/should she, but it was a simple gesture that demonstrated a level of care and interest in guests. We had a very good experience and if I was visiting Prague again, I'd have no hesitation in staying at Hotel Rott.

“A terrific stay at Hotel Rott”

We had a terrific experience with Hotel Rott on a critical business trip to Prague. We had a terrific experience with Hotel Rott on a critical business trip to Prague. The hotel is located in the old city steps from the famous clock and other sites; the hotel staff treated us as family; rooms were well cleaned and comfortable; breakfast had just about anything one could want. A special thanks go to the driver, Martin Jech, whom the hotel arranged to fetch us from the airport and to get us to our business appointment on time the next day. Martin, born and raised in Prague, also gave us a memorable two hour tour of the city on Sunday to sites often neglected by most tourists. Most importantly he delivered us and our bags to the rail station next day, even going into the station to assure we could find the correct gate for our train. A perfect ending to our 5 day stay.

Location location location! What a fantastic hotel in a perfect place. Two minutes from everything in Old Town Square and the ability to be able to come back and rest, charge phones, make a hot drink, and use the toilet, since there are not many public toilets in Prague, cannot be overstated. Add to that - fantastic staff at all times of day, all very helpful and friendly. The icing on the cake is the amazing breakfast. My husband and I have stayed at five star hotels all around the world and we both said this is the best breakfast we have ever had. The options are amazing ( best scrambled eggs!) and fabulous coffee and while many items are the same each day, they do provide slightly different options each day which did not go unnoticed. The breakfast staff are amazing and clean everything up immaculately and swiftly and are to be greatly praised. Also offering a little tipple of Prosecco at breakfast, while not utilized every day, was a nice touch. Our room is not the largest, but this is Europe! The bathroom is amazing and the pressure and heat from the shower is fantastic. Minibar and frig are helpful too plus we liked the gummy bears at reception! The hotel also gave us two complimentary mini bottles of Prosecco on NY Eve - nice! We are absolutely thrilled with our four nights here and cannot recommend it highly enough. Thank you hotel Rott!

“Great hotel, unfortunate receptionist ”

This was a return visit to Hotel Rott. I’d previously stayed pre-Covid and been offered a 10% discount should I go back. It wasn’t a difficult decision to return. The hotel is situated just off Old Town Square so couldn’t be more central. It’s warm, clean and welcoming. The bedrooms are a good size and my bed was very comfortable. Breakfast in an atmospheric basement vault is more than adequate with both hot and cold options and as much as you want. The breakfast staff are very attentive and plates are cleared away quickly and efficiently. The only disappointment was the unpleasant and hostile receptionist when we arrived about 10pm after a few delays. He made a huge production about registering us although I doubt he was expecting anybody else that evening. Much eye rolling and sighing and I began to wonder if the pre-paid booking had actually gone through in spite of my having the email conformation. Pre-payment didn’t meet with his approval, or the price we had paid. He questioned everything and made me feel uncomfortable, but thankfully we didn’t see him again. It was an unfortunate start to an otherwise enjoyable stay and was all the more disappointing because every other member of staff was unfailingly pleasant and cheerful.
