We have stayed at Sheraton Soma Bay for the fifth time. The hotel has improved significantly following the recent renovation. The rooms and the main restaurant are very appealing. As always, the staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was cleaned perfectly by Mohammed. The noise level is low, with no loud evening events. The heated pool is a notable improvement, and the beach is very nice. The inner reef has unfortunately deteriorated and is no longer as good as it used to be, while the outer reef remains in good condition. Three improvements would be welcome: better Wi-Fi at the beach, less slippery tiles around the pool, and removal of the new rubber running track, which is already deteriorating and may negatively impact the reef.

We loved every moment at Sheraton Soma Bay! The staff is very polite and helpful!🙏🏻 Hend was always smiling and kind, and helped with everything about the desserts. Elshajed and Elbanan were always ready to help, and also chefs were there and supported us in everything. Such a fantastic team!!!. The housekeeping team is very skilled too! We loved the daily towel animals waiting for us in our clean room. It made every day special.:) During the day, Ramy at the bar made amazing drinks and was always very friendly. The place itself is wonderful: the beach is comfortable and gives both privacy and relaxation – one of my favorite parts of the hotel. Everything was simply amazing, and we will definitely come back!

Wrapped up our fabulous Egypt trip with a 3 night stay at Sheraton Soma Bay. First, the good - the renovated rooms are very nice. Bed was comfortable, robes are and toiletries are nice quality. Elite status was recognized through daily treats left in the room. We were upgraded to nice (partial?) sea view connected rooms on the top floor. The beach is beautiful and the pool (while showing some wear) is also very nice and a great size (never felt crowded). Elites can reserve the front row of the beach palapa seating. However, the process for reserving was never explained so we only happened into one on a windy day several were unoccupied. That experience is a good example of the negatives. A lot of processes at this resort remains a mystery as nothing is clearly explained or written anywhere. I had no idea when the restaurants were open (on my last day there I realized the bar on the lobby level had a lovely daytime menu of great food - at check-in no mention was made of any food except the buffet and pre fixe restaurant below (to sell the half board package). The explanation of the half and full board package was extremely confusing (several different prices thrown out in EGP, EU, and USD). I may have considered it if I was provided something clearly spelling out the program to read and consider. Snorkel gear? Had to ask several people and ultimately was told to wait for a golf cart shuttle (which took me to Breakers) - again, fine - but some sort of written explanation in a resort activities booklet would be helpful since staff isn't always knowledgeable about programing. Same with other waterfront activities - one day a guy was wandering the pool area promoting catamarans. My son sails, so he wanted to inquire about rentals, but we never saw that man again and never found anyone that knew how to access or where to go. No elite lounge. When I asked, I was told that's only for "city hotels, their lounge is for people that pay for it." Ok... The Breakfast buffet is quite expansive. My daughter and I made the mistake of going really early one day and seeing how many birds were inside snacking on the food with no staff attempting to deter. We didn't eat bread or anything else uncovered after that. Compared to other resorts in the area, this one doesn't seem to cater to family travel (kids clubs, activities, etc.), which is fine, we were not looking for that, but there are still a good number of families here with bored kids that often run wild. Playing unsupervised late in the evening in the gym, splashing sunbathers near the pool, etc. Overall, it's a beautiful resort. I think they are trying to position themselves to attract upscale guests (that want to pay for lounge), but have some work to do on making sure guests are provided information on what the resort offers. Tips - there are several reasonably priced restaurants at the nearby marina. Golf cart shuttle is free until sunset - possibly can catch a ride after sunset for payment (again, not clear but someone drove by us walking one evening, stopped and asked if we needed the taxi??). Also, a small grocery with snacks, cheap sandwiches, and drinks and a "Cheers" location to buy beer and wine.

Stayed 10 days at this so called 5☆ hotel including breakfast buffet, price was very high for what offer. Room was ok, but the buffet was more like a cantina quality, always the same. We also tried 2x lunch and dinner buffet, quality applies as for breakfast. Without informing, they increased the buffet price by 17,5%, so I complained. Restaurant manager, Waid,agreed to give us 20% rebate but when I paid my bill, it wasn't corrected. After complaining they did. Also the pool Restaurant was under work, apparently since several month. There were a lots of kids too. All in all, not the standard I expected in view of the high room price. Won't come back.
