Location: the hotel is approximately a 2 hour drive from Cairo International Airport. You can take an airport shuttle service or a taxi, which typically costs around 2000 Egyptian pounds. The hotel is situated on a hill, making it a secluded destination, So don't expect nearby shops or external restaurants. It is truly a resort designed for guests to spend most of their time within the galala hotel complex. Rooms: all rooms offer magnificent sea view. A sea and pool views are guaranteed. Rooms are spacious, well furnished with modern furniture and include a cozy seating area. The air-conditioning works efficiently and the bathrooms are designed according to modern hotel standards. However, the main drawback of the room experience is the housekeeping service. Housekeeping: thus was the most disappointing aspect of my stay. The service was extremely poor. I had to repeatedly call reception to request basic housekeeping duties. Despite being 3 adults in the room ( clearly indicated by number of beds) they only provided water bottles and coffee supplies for two. There was no liquid soap in the dispenser and towels were not changed for two days. No amenities for 5 star hotel as no shampoo or conditioner, no slippers, no tooth brushes or paste, no sweing kit, no plastic head cover...nothing in the bathroom. The staff showed a lack of professionalism and responsibility. Restaurant: the food quality was average, with limited variety not what one would expect from 5 star hotel. For example, yogurt was served on a plate instead of in individual glasses. Breakfast started 8:30 am but food is cleared away quite aggressively at 10 am which feels unwelcoming. Ehen I ordered fresh juice ( Florida) it was served mixed together in a plastic cup, which was disappointing. In a five stars hotel such items should be presented more appropriately and professionally. Beach: the hotel is not directly beachfront, however,shuttle buses run every 15 minutes to the hotel's private beach. The beach was excellent and the staff there were very polite and helpful. Beach towels are clean and new and there was a sea water pool which was a great feature. Finally, I would consider returning to this hotel because of the location near to Cairo, views and the beach services.
